President Mahinda Rajapakse's administration would not quit the Oslo-arranged Ceasefire Agreement, government sources said.

I really don't understand Sri Lankan politics, and I am sure it doesn't matter.

Govt. won't quit CFA

I'm not surprised by this. The CFA has now become merely an insignificant, but convenient, detail. When one party is hammering the other, it is called retaliatory action. If one party is getting hammered, they can say there's a CFA in place.

This was done for the sake of Tamils. Don't blame LTTE.

Sea Tigers blast Indian tug deployed for Sethu project
The LTTE blasted an Indian tug deployed south of Point Calimere in June last year, well informed sources said. The ill-fated vessel is believed to have been deployed alongside a dredger assigned for controversial Sethusamudram project. The LTTE had used a limpet mine, believed to be about 40 kgs in weight to blast the tug.The Sunday Island came across information regarding the hitherto unreported attack Friday in the backdrop of Indian claims that 15 LTTE boats on suicide missions are operating in the waters between India and Sri Lanka, an assertion rejected by Sri Lanka.

You all and JVP are busy in screaming. Gotha malli is busy and going hunting hyenas in the east.

Fresh offensive gets underway
Troops are engaged in a major jungle operation aimed at weakening LTTE units operating in parts of the Batticaloa district. Specialised units operating north of Trincomalee-Horowpothana road are seeking to neutralise enemy units which are believed to be isolated due to growing security forces presence in the Batticaloa-Trincomalee region. The military launched the operation a few days ago, a senior military official said. 'We are seeking to neutralise their presence in an area upto Yan Oya,' he said.
