the fear of N & E state merging alliance with S India on one hand !!

India will never try to annex the north and east of SL instead India will love to have a elected puppet if EELAM becomeS a independent state.

Karunanidhi warns political leaders against nexus with LTTE

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi today warned that stern action would be taken against leaders of political parties if they were found to have nexus with the LTTE.

The CM's warning comes at the backdrop of reports that the banned outfit is smuggling arms and ammunition from the state.

Writing in the DMK's official organ 'Murasoli', he said strict instructions had been issued not to show any lenience to these leaders if their nexus with the LTTE was established.

A strict vigil was being maintained against those who were attempting to supply arms to LTTE and some had been arrested. Boats carrying arms and ammunition were being seized and the cargo destroyed, he said.

Nobody should think that the state government's appeal to the Centre on taking steps for peace in Sri Lanka was a 'sanction' to indulge in acts like arms smuggling, the CM said.

'None can even dream that the state will intervene in the Sri Lankan Tamils issue, ignoring the steps taken by the Centre in the interests of the country and its security,' he said.

'The state government is aware of the difference between the political parties' appeal to the Centre on saving the lives of innocent Tamils in the island republic being killed by the Sri Lankan army and making the state a distribution point for arms and ammunition to LTTE,' Karunanidhi said.

His remarks come in the wake of reports of seizure of arms and ammunition and boats carrying cargo. Intelligence agencies had reportedly cautioned and informed the state on such activities.

Police in the coastal areas of the state had been asked to maintain a strict vigil over movements of boats besides monitoring the movement of those known to be 'LTTE sympathisers.'

'Our people have not been operating in that area recently,' ...... 'How many more hundreds of camps are they going to claim to overrun? It's mostly propaganda.'
