Doctor: Why are you laughing sir?
MR: Son, you are still young, but you already have a tummy. Do you drink too much beer or toddy?
Doctor: Sir, you should ask that from the man next to you.

See this is a true example of the sincerity of our president. Few weeks back I saw a jobless graduate monk protesting on top a fort bus stand. And now Hon. Mahinda has decided to offer appointments to these poor jobless doctors.
If these doctors find these appointments are not real the next day, don't expect us to believe the President being a dishonest crook. We will simply call it another 'Gal Anda kama' of Mahinda. Edited By - radaw - 21 Feb 2007 03:19:37 GMT |

Capricon,
MR is using every opportunity as political propaganda. SL may be the only country where letters of appointments issued by the head of the state and minsters. In that sense our govt employees are a privileged lot.
Totally true. Sri Lanka is the only country where after having your degree, you have to lick the boots of politicians to get a job. Why president have to give their offering letter? Hire doctors or whoever according to proper procedures and let them start working with dignity. |

Hope majority of these doctors would serve in Sri Lanka without leaving the country....Govt should take appropriate action to retain them in SL,by giving them fair salaries and suitable allowances....Govt should give these Dr s priority over the Dr who graduated from foreign unis....
anyway ALL THE BEST FOR THESE DOCTORS!!

MR :Your appointment is GENUINE my dear Doctor. I am contemplating on admitting my other son to the Medical College. I know that he may come across you guys one day.
Please help him out because my children are admitted BY DEFAULT.
