Welcome to the forum Kadphises, my first post was optimistic and pragmatic like yours, I think after the 10th or so post I realised that there is no hope but to wipe out the tyranny of the LTTE and take out the support base as well.
If this is at all possible where only the homicidal ones get wiped out I have no objection. But inevitably too many people get wiped out who are just victims of circumstances like the Batticoloa priest (Read DBS Jayraj's piece on this story). Look at the US's efforts in Vietnam, 4 million Vietnamese killed but they still lost the war.
My suggestion is to offer peace on an Tamil-Sinhalses parity basis. But if they still insist on having their Supremacist Super State with 35% of the land encircling 60% of the country and expect the Sinhalese and Moslems to crowd into whats left we are justified in waging total war where people's assets are requsitioned and school leavers drafted into the forces in order to storm the Mullaitivu fortress. |

May I ask as to what made you to loose hope? What makes you think that, realistically, GOSL can wipe out Tamil Nationalism just like that?
The mistake is here, my friend, you piggy backed your Tamil Nationalism on a bunch of blood thirsty hooligans. You lost the plot there. Had your fight for Tamil Nationalism involved peaceful methods or smart politics with the help of the IC or India then your so called struggle would have been respected. What do you call a freedom struggle that kills innocents? Whose freedom are you taking about? The dead? |

Do you fool really believe that thousand of youth Tamils in Jaffna were captured by LTTE ?? Hmmm !

Thats what this whole mess is about K, a minority asking for a bigger slice of the cake? Where will it end? What will the muslims want? The Christians, the catholics? The Bhahai's, how many division can a limited amount of land can have? Instead of just living in harmony, LTTE chose war, so now reap what you sow. Simple as that. |

East is already lost. LTTE will never be able to capture East again. Topigala pockets will be flushed soon.
When LTTE looses Kilinochchi GOSL will have to implement a viable solution for the National question.
We can ask VP to surrender to GOSL and he will have a fair trial.
Karuna amman will win the Elections and work the tamil dominated areas in Sri lanka towards development. |
