Answer
The 1989 Convention on the Rights of the Child permits the armed forces of a state to recruit children over 15 years old. The 2000 Optional Protocol to the convention says that ''armed groups that are distinct from armed forces of a state should not, under any circumstances, recruit or use in hostilities persons under the age of 18 years.''
LTTE is an armed Terrorist group. ELAM is only in the Internet. What sort of stupidity would help LTTE to think they are a Nation ? When the 10 million TAMILNadu is addressed as the Indian state of tamilnadu. |

I believe that tamil children may be happy to be of some service to their nation, in the face of the sinhalese oppression. It also seems to be better than selling underage children to work as slaves in rich houses in SL itself by sinhalese parents because they cannot feed them. There are over 800,000 child labour in SL, and 90% of them are sinhalese poor form villeges.
The fact that LTTe accepted it does not make it any worse or better for those 800,000 child labours in SL. |

Why would anyone wants to make an issue out of underage soldiers if they have joined willingly to fight.In any case terror groups would loose in the battle front if the fighters were conscripts due to lack of their loyalty.
However in principle child soldiers are no match for a professionally trained soldier.Since Tamil Terrorists have lost majority of their terrorists over the years,only option is the quantity while quality is not an option.Either way Tamil Terrorists are a spent force.Only option left for them is their survival with quantity.Soon all quantities will run out.:-)) |

Are they service for nations? By T56..))) If they want to service for nation they must be educated and then service. But unfortunately they never got that chance because of LTTE terrorist,,, Before few years ago large number of Tamils students become Engineers and doctors here, Still few Colombo living Tamils become good position and they done massive service for country.
Funny thing is why CHARLIS ANOTHONY never like to service for his dreaming Nation????
