Century stand helps Thurstan

A valuable century partnership between Umesh Karunaratne (45) and Charith Gayan (76) for the sixth wicket helped Thurstan overcome a top order collapse and post 267 against D. S. Senanayake College in their Inter-School Elephant Lemonade Trophy Under-20 cricket match which commenced at Thurstan grounds, Monday.
In reply, DSS were 118 for 3 at close.

Fernando restricts Sylvestrians
St. Sylvester`s were shot out for 154 runs, as Denuwan Fernando picked up 6 wickets for just 23 runs and helped De Mazenod College take first day`s honours in their match which started late (12.00 p.m.) due to wet ground conditions at Kandana on Monday.
De Mazenod were 38 for 4 at close.

Maliyadeva make 297 against Nalanda
Maliyadeva scored a mammoth 297 against Nalanda as Gayan Maneeshan, W. Ratnayake and skipper Duminda Dassanayake scored half centuries in their match which began at Nalanda ground on Monday.
In reply, Nalanda were 79 for 1 at close with Lahiru Wickramasinghe unbeaten on 45.
