Rasak,
Very interesting post. Congratulations!
Hope most of the SL Tamil 'warriors' in this forum would understand what you are saying.
Today SL Tamil kids do not go to school. The slots in the University are being filled by muslims (as you highlighted in your post, perhaps SL Muslims are living WITH Sinhalese and work for betterment).
Those who were fortutane enough to migrate are demanding the less fortunate Tamil kids in SL should give up their studies and be the cannon fodder... Just for the 'dignity' of expat SL Tamils!!
Cheers

SenaM,
Why should'nt the police be concerned about 'un-wanted' callers attempting to get to Mangala Samaraweera's house ? He had earlier complained to the police, there were 'death threats' against him .. then there were allegations, that he (and some other dismissed politicians) were 'plotting' to kill the President. It would appear, keeping his house 'under surveillance' was to be expected.
Here is a political leader and minister in charge of an important ministry who fell out with the president and got sacked from the government. He is in the middle of busy political consultations to mount a political challenge to the president.
But he is under police 'surveillance' and the police has 'orders from the top' not to allow anyone other than his family members into his residence. Not even other ministers or other political leaders, let alone his supporters.
This is happening to Sri Lanka. And you, who consider himself as a SL patriot is concerned about my pointing out. How funny!
SL is no more a 'banana' Republice than India .. if it comes to that.
Where the hell India comes into all of these, SenaM! Edited By - Maninder - 13 Feb 2007 08:18:04 GMT |

Its only one side of a misleading argument! although there are good points there!!
First of all your point is that there is blatant discrimination against Tamils!! you accept that not many Sinhalese even today!! Even MR gvt!!
Amirs intentions are misinterpreted because if he had a strategy he should have gone with that to the young men then and convinced them with that strategy! Because he was one of the politicians who stirred up Tamil nationalism amongst the young men in the early seventies! Thats probably why the LTTE thought he betrayed them!!
My second point is he failed to articulate steady policies chopped and changed them to suit himself! if he had this so called wisdom that you are reading into!
Third point is Sri Lanka is not Malasia.
Fourth point is Devananda is a stupid selfish individual!! I know him personally!! If you are going to equal Devananda with Amir! That sums up your understanding of Tamil issues in SL!!

Yes I am SAD. It is very sad to see you trying to whitewash the killing of Amir by the LTTE.
Very sad indeed.
