| | The invitation to `pseudo-peace talks` by Sivajilingam, MP TNA Monday, 5 February 2007 - 5:35 PM SL Time | | | To all my friends in LNP,
The folowing is a comment made by me in the main thread published today. I feel its my duty to publish yet again here (with minute changes made by me) in my space for the benefit of the others who didn`t read or come across vie for genuine peace.
Let me express my frank view of this situation without a shadow of a doubt. How many times have we encountered this MANTRA called talks with the LTTE? Yes, I am asking you all genuine peace lovers including my self.
Lets take the recent times not the talks of the yester years of Thimpu or any other place. How many genuine attempts were carried out by the LTTE or their infants TNA? the answer is NONE a big ZERO or ZILCH. When ever the chips are down they come back for the `talks` subject as if when a kid is hungry comes to the mother to ask for the food. Likewise we are yet again duped for the peace trench, I am laughing at both ends. Yes, cannot think any better when it comes from a TNA MP.
Now take the reasons why TNA wants peace; yes its the demand of the LTTE to regroup their reinforcements. This is no secret for all of us Lankans. Time and time again Pirapa had tricked us to do this `pseudo peace talk` mantra and what had happened? You tell me; nothing but more catastrophe (e.g. Nittambuwa and Godagama Bus bombing, attempt to blow up Harbour and plenty more). Now yet again the ball is in the GOSL court, what can they really do? I mean why wait and waste time since we achieved theoretically the impossible Vakarai victory yet we are listening (for what, is it the UN?). I am baffled in all corners.
Time to wake up from the deep sleep flex our muscles and ready to rumble, go whole hog and once and for all liberate all the victims of both N and E. Is there any more to add? That would be welcome!
Pirapa categorically mentioned on the so-called Mahavir day (on 26th November 2006) he is vying for an Independent State yes, that is his `EELAM` and now why this TNA MP Sivajilingam on `Federalisation or talks`? This is the trick of the LTTE trade folks, we have come and seen this modus operandi, now don`t dwell in this dream of talks or pseudo peace, get the things out of this mess. Lets move one step forward which is to get the whole of East and also trudge in to the once prohibited North by the so-called Peace birds Norway and the Yudha Virodhiyos.
Mahinda and all those who really concern of the one-country phenomenon lets march towards that once elusive victory with real consensus and self belief. After all its time to focus on domestic stand than depending on UN and other NGOs for aid ONLY purposes.
All I have to say is I don`t believe words of `Peace and political soultion` that comes froma Snake`s mouth (Snakes mouth originally considered venomous when King of Gods Zeaus was encountered by a snake who offered a flower to the former on his wedding day for which he refused declaring even a flower contains poison offered by a snake- an Aesop fable), its good as poison. Lets not dwell in the dream and spoil the soup. Go forward, that is what the doctors orders are.

I guess we have to keep on doing that cause GOSL cant defeat LTTE militarily and we have to consider the plight of ordinary Tamil people living in NE.....unfortunatetly Ranil tried to DO something and Chandrika sabotaged that...rest is history!! |

Mark,
we have to consider the plight of ordinary Tamil people living in NE.....
Very true.
This is the reason I was pleased that victory at Vaharai was achieved without causing any harm to ordinary tamils there. This is why its important to balance the issue of limited operation while insisting on peace. The latter seems the difficult as we all know. I guess Mahinda must focus on keep on doing the same as he's been doing for the last few months in order to keep the interest on.
Peace has to be convincing than providing any leniecy that generate terrorism that is why controlling and gripping the LTTE is important if that is militarily difficult to dislodge completely as shown due to many factors.
