| If memory serves me correct VP, took out most of his political rivals and made sure that no one fit enough to lead the Tamil people is around. The TNA is the long arm of the LTTE and nothing else. If the LTTE is genuine in its aspiration for the Tamils people then let TNA do the talking and come up with a viable solution instead of getting advise from a killer. |

Tamil people have voted for independence
Revy,
I will just reproduce below the report of the European Union Election Observation Mission, the EU, April 2004, to show how the elections in the North-East were rigged.
If the election results in the North and East had been a critical factor in determining who formed the government, it would have raised questions about the legitimacy of the final outcome. The events that took place in this part of Sri Lanka during the course of this election were totally unacceptable and are the antithesis of democracy
And now anybody would see how the people have elected the TNA..

MR signed 'mahintha chintana' with JVP then ditched them. Later signed MoU with Ranil, then ditched him.
Now he wants TNA to ditch. Tamil people cannot be taken for a ride anymore. Because, they were already cheated several times from Banda-Selva pact to recent PTOMS. |

Who ditched whom is irrelevant to me as long as they (GOSL) kill the 'u-know-who' in the Wanni ditch!!..
That is all the 'ditch' I am interested in.. Edited By - ahmadineja - 5 Feb 2007 05:53:59 GMT |

I rest my case..
Hmm not so soon mate...
that same report has this to say about the government's acitons:
The state media displayed an evident bias in favour of the UPFA with regards to news and informative programmes thus disregarding their duty to provide equitable and fair coverage of the election contestants. Particularly, state television (Rupavahini and ITN) dedicated 68% of their election coverage to UPFA while only 22% to UNP.
Likewise they say that the LTTE may be responsible for killing a couple of Karuna supporting politicians and the following:
In the Jaffna Government controlled area, the other two
contestants, the EPDP and the independent candidate Mr. Anandasangaree, faced several limitations during their campaign due to psychological pressures and intimidation by LTTE supporters.
Hmm seems the people didn't like either of the dogs, so the government used its power to make only its voice heard and the LTTE supporting Tamils (the majority) made their voice heard, so shall we scarp the entire thing and start over?
its easy to paint a picture you want to with only half the facts eh?
Besides I was talking about 1977, not the 2004 elections. 1977 was a clear cut madate from the Tamil people. Edited By - Revy - 5 Feb 2007 06:01:01 GMT |

Hmm looks like the LTTE gave your goons a break for the national terror day, but they are getting back to work right away, good good.
Terror activities swell in Vauniya and Mannar; a soldier and a terrorist killed
The LTTE terrorists using mortars and small arms attacked at the Army camp at Uilankulam in Vavuniya around 2a.m today (Monday the 5th of February).
The soldiers confronted with a large number of terrorist possibly come to overrun the isolated camp and foiled the terror attempt successfully. The terrorists unable to withstand the army retaliation took on to their heels in to Wanni jungles.
A soldier was killed and three others suffered injuries during the battle. The injured were rushed to the General Hospital Anuradhapura.
This was the third successive attack by the LTTE at the security forces in the Vavuniya and Mannar areas since yesterday (Sunday the 4th February).

Revy,
psychological pressures and intimidation by LTTE supporters.
why did the LTTE supporters (and the majority, as you put it) inflict psychological pressures on others and intimidate others in the first place???
where does it say anything about the GOSL...?????
what point are you trying to prove?? Edited By - ahmadineja - 5 Feb 2007 06:07:22 GMT |

I see that Vavuniya and mannar are places that Killinochchi is eyeing now to offset the GOSL military onslaught....
