Stupid Trumpet net and Associated Greedy LTTE diaspora sell Point Pedro civilians.

Bread shortage looms in Jaffna

TamilNet, Sunday, 04 February 2007, 19:55 GMT

Shortage of wheat flour in Jaffna will soon force the bakery owners in Jaffna peninsula to cease baking bread, civil society sources in Jaffna said. The stock of wheat flour at the Jaffna Secretariat had reached dangerously low levels while shipment of flour into the peninsula has been completely suspended, officials close to flour distribution in Jaffna Secretariat said.
The ship 'City of Liverpool' which brought wheat flour to Point Pedro harbour from Trincomalee, was taken to Kankesanthurai harbour and the flour was unloaded there, when it was attacked in January, alleged Point Pedro residents.

The Government Agent Jaffna, while accepting the wheat flour stock with the Secretariat is low, refused to comment on if this will result in shortage of bread in Jaffna.

Bread production in the peninsula has been reduced by 40% because the amount of wheat flour issued to them by the Jaffna District Secretariat has been temporarily limited, the bakery owners said.

The owners further said that the GA has cancelled licences given to the bakers to produce buns and biscuits.

With the Sri Lanka Army (SLA) closure of the A9 route to Jaffna in August 2006 blocking essential food items to Jaffna peninsula, almost all families in the peninsula eat bread at least for one meal and the stoppage of bread production will affect all layers of the Jaffna society, civil sources in Jaffna said.

Surely, it is high time that the Diaspora financiers in this forum and elsewhere who fund the Tamil tiger terror in Sri Lanka, came to check the balance sheet of their all ready politically, socially, morally and now increasingly militarily, bankrupt venture back home.

If these venture capitalists truly intended in yielding higher return for the stakeholders, they should swift their investments into more profitable ones like the mainstream politics, if nothing else then consider oil exploration!

Shouldn?t you be looking into the future and demanding change in leadership, direction and vision before injecting more cash into a failing venture, that this Tamil liberation struggle has become.

Otherwise what is the point in channeling funds to a terror fueled struggle that only brings hardship and misery to so many people for a generations to come, without ever achieving any form of freedom and liberation.

The future could be peaceful and green (!) and you really need to understand this and take it on board, my friends.

Imagine what a change in leadership can do to a movement. Just look at what happened to the SLFP government of today.

The only way to liberate and save Tamils is to first stop bombing them. As long as bombs fall there will be no peace or liberation.

When 'whatreallyhap ' does not know what really happens I would like to educate him that bombs are falling where LTTE is. SLA had liberated Tamils by chasing LTTE away and bombs are not falling now on those places unless LTTE fires their artilleries at them.

In short, what these 'Tamil nationalists' were not going to get with India, they thought they can bully SL into giving them...this is the root of the problem. This came out when we were getting our independence from Britain when these early 'eelamists' demanded for GUARANTEED 50% representation in the parliament! Yes, 'Guaranteed' meant they did not have to contest to win those 50% of the seats in the parliament, but the constitution had to guarantee it....! Mind-boggling? Sure!

The 50% was for ALL minorities not just Tamils, and it has been proven GG was right when he asked for it because the SInhala racists did just what he feared, they subjugated the minorities, stole their lands and killed them at a whim.

You could have dealt with it peacefuly, now face our response the LTTE and bleed.
