Jaffna MPCS President assassinated

President of the Jaffna Multi Pupose Co-Operative Society (MPCS) and an active social worker in the Jaffna Peninsula, S. T. Gananathan, 64, was shot dead near Mampalam junction Sri Lanka Army camp in Ariyalai, a suburb of Jaffna, around 6:30 a.m., Thursday.
Mr. Gananathan went to fetch water from a well close to his house in Punkankulam, along A-9 highway, when he was assasinated by two unidentified armed men, sources in Jaffna said.
The incident occured about 200 metres from Mampalam junction SLA camp.
Gananathan is an retired engineer. He assumed duties as the president of the MPCS, Jaffna when former president of the Jaffna MPCS, Solomen Sri left Jaffna in Desember 2005 after receiving death threats.
In August 2006, Thellipalai MPCS president, Sivamagaraja was shot dead by unidentified persons.
Gananathan`s daughter, Thayananthy, 19-years-old, was killed on 07 August 1996, when a SLA truck rammed into a group of school girls.
On the same date, her schoolmate, Krishanthy Kumarasamy, was gang raped and killed by the SLA troopers, and her family members who went searching for their daughter were massacred.
Gananathan was one of the activists who worked for exposing Krishanthy`s case.

Read Carefully the words used by LTTE - Trupet net 'Two unidentified gunmen'. Other wise, they say, SLA killed or EPDP cm looking for him or something like that.
LTTE did not like, this guy associating with the GOSL for devlivering foods to Jaffna civilians. So for LTTE, this guy should be a traitor.
In order to spoil what the unidentifed gunmen did, trmpet net shows, that this person's daughter died in an Accident which involved SLA. One of that girl's scholl mates, which has no any relation to this, also died because of SLA. this case happened 10 years and 06 months ago.

This man joins the thousands of innocent unarmed tamils being eliminated by the 'sole representatives of the land of the dead!'
This mans crime appears to be because he tried to help the citizen of Jaffna to over come their hunger !
By killing them, by attacking ships, by threatning shops then the LTTE will go all over the world and say the SL govt. is not providing food !
Men of interllect, men of dignity, men of courage , men who oppose barbarity -all are being eliminated so that they could continue to 'dream' to rule a puppet tamil-land.

AnuDUD again you leave out the KEY part, this man fought tirelessly to expose the rape and murder of his daughters friend, and that is what led to the discovery of the Chemani mass graves where your criminal barbarians burried over 600 innocent Tamils.
So tell me again WHO hates him, the LTTE or the government and their dogs? |

Is this the first time that Mr. Ganarathnan went to fetch water from the well close to SLA camp? SLA guys might have waited for an auspicious time for many years to carry out this murder I suppose.
Who ever did it, needs condemnation.
LTTE brought war, death and misery to the door steps of Tamils.
