Changes,
Indian politician J Jayalalithaa has alleged that an alarming situation was now developing as the banned LTTE was now looking at Tamil Nadu as a base and all political parties, except hers, was prepared to roll out a red carpet welcoming to the outfit.

Reality
Over 95% of senior citizens of Sri Lanka today are destitute, a leading psychiatrist Mano Fernandopulle says. He proposed that government should introduce a programme to help the aged in the country.

Hope
Bandula Gunawardena says the government expects to stabilize the prices of the essential goods by the second quarter of 2008. Government is taking measures to stabilize the prices by April 2008?

Abuse
sexual charges for carrying out a body check for explosives on a female customer. They had allegedly taken the woman into a small room and stripped her after the metal detector sounded the alarm. According to the complaint lodged with the police the woman was stripped in front of her two young children

History
The Veddas inhabited the island at least 14,000 yearsago. If anyone, they are the original Sri Lankans. For itlooks like that at some point in pre-history- and quite closeto Sri Lanka's Neolithic period- these people crossed theshallow waters of what later came to be known as the PalkStrait to reach the island.
Like the Ho and Birhors of Chota Nagpur in Central India, the Vededas belong to the Austro-Asiatic family. Among theirother cousins are the Kubus of Indonesia, The sakai inMalaysia and the Aborigines of Australia, the author says.
Strangely, the people who inhabited the island longbefore either Tamils or the Sinhalese appeared on the scenehave not been part of the 'me first' debate and the argumentit generates. If at all, they have been practicallyignored-pushed as they were beyond the margins of society

May be none of above is matter now, like all what happend in 2007.
Happy 2008 then...

A store owner and three salesmen in Avissawella have been arrested by the police on sexual charges for carrying out a body check for explosives on a female customer. They had allegedly taken the woman into a small room and stripped her after the metal detector sounded the alarm. According to the complaint lodged with the police the woman was stripped in front of her two young children and without the presence of any female security personnel or saleswomen.

No more ladies shopping! Only gents shopping. If the owner and sales assistant are women, gents shopping would be fantastic!
