had two close calls already mate.
I was returning from a meeting on negombo road when the claymore went off. we were less than 5 mins away from the blast and as we approached spot i saw one man on sidewalk with a bloodied face and with blood all over his shirt...
the people close by go together to load him upto a van and took him to the hospital. the van he was driving was travelling on the opposite lane to the MP's vehicle but still it had got affected but the driver managed to drive on for about a hundred yards away...
the cops quickly closed the road and diverted the traffic to another smaller road bypassing the bombed spot.
The lake house one also...was on my way from work with wifey and we usually take the road in front of trans asia hotel to take a short-cut to wattala... this day wifey wanted to go for coffee at coffee house in horton place and had to turn the vehicle around near the ladies college to go to the coffee house...
5mins in the coffee house and i get a call from a buddy with news of the bomb going off... good thing no one was injured :)
so two close calls within a week..not a bad way to live :)
making everyday count and enjoying while it lasts :)
you don't live twice after all :)
