1. Though people said MP can buy for money, it seems, that was not worked well.
2. But, the critical challenge to the government is important, to check its own errors.
3. UNP trapped in the trap set by JVP.
4. Government must learn a lesson,..but I wonder that if they do so. |

Jaya Wewa!
We need to see an end to the terrorism in this country next year. At least now, people need to corner politicos, like Romeo Hakeem and Kiri Berty.
JVP need to follow Nandana and should do something for the country. Mere talk shows won't do any good for the country. |

what is your point of view on this budget???????
what do you expect the most (suicide bombs or air raids)
I think at least two more MPs should have voted against it.. :-(
It could have the help country from the political and economical catastrophe ..
Surf on the Net.. Voices against State Terrorism is rising in the IC.. A final step before the crash of Mahinda's Jumbo Jet ?? Could be..
Surprised to see the winning majority. I thought there was a chance of the budget been defeated.
This corrupted president gave the minimum.. Two more people in the other side and it was finished for him and his dynasty that control GOSL.
At least 700 persons working in the GOSL are Rajapkse relatives. Edited By - KURAL - 14 Dec 2007 16:04:13 GMT |

Sri Lanka Government under President Mahinda Rajapakse won the 3rd reading of the 2008 Budget today (14) by 47 votes. 38 MPs abstained from voting. The victory is a relief for the state engaged in a deadly duel of skirmishes with the LTTE in the Vanni.
lack of political intelligence on the part of the Opposition and the JVP- The opposition expected the Ceylon Workers Congress to vote against the budget. The JVP expected the government to lose and once a new government is formed after elections, to agree to support President Rajapakse conditionally. However, a meeting between the CWC and Minister Basil Rajapakse seem to have changed the CWC's mind. Until the very last moment, neither the UNP nor the JVP knew of the change in the minds of the CWC MPs.
