actually, they are the lawbreakers, looting the public, influencing police and CID to work for them and break the rules.......etc

For the most part of our life since independence, that has been our menu. The next govt from whichever party it may come won't be any different, you bet.

I am not sure if RW really wanted to defeat the govt -or he knew all along that it is not possible. (or that odds were too thin to bet heavily on)

He get my praise for not getting too excited, as some others (Mangala / Sri Pathi / Tissa ) in the opposition did.

It would have been disastrous for RW and the country if he'd won the last presidential election (the reason is not that he'd have given into LTTE, as many seem to predict)

Even now, the environment is not ripe enough to deliver a big enough change that will enable him to do anything worthwhile.

From the begging I wrote here that JVP won't allow this government to fall as they know the consequences if UNP comes to power. JVP may not have this number (39) of MPs in the parliment if they contest as one party. In fact they can't win atleast singhe seat if we implement Wesminister system election. In that sense they must thank to JR for introducing the propotional system in Sri Lanka.
Now JVP must try to provide relief to people by forcing government to reduce corruptions and inefficiencies.
