Westborg undertakes a broad operation to defeat the budget

Diplomatic Sources say that former Norwegian Ambassador Mr. Jon Westborg is now in Sri Lanka and the he is engaged in a broad operation to defeat the budget.

According to these Sources Mr. Westborg who arrived in Sri Lanka two weeks ago has had several rounds of secret discussions with a few government ministers in a leading hotel in Colombo and representatives of British, German and Australian embassies are reported to have been associated with westborg in these discussions.

In these discussions they have promised a luxurious house with a garden in Australia, foreign tours and 200 million rupees in cash for each MP who crosses over to the opposition.

These sources added that there has been such a secret discussion between westborg and Muslim Congress leader Rauf Hakeem on last 10th.

Jon westborg was the Norwegian Ambassador for Sri Lanka at the time Sri Lanka government entered into a cease fire agreement with the Tigers organization in 2002

EU Condemns abductions of parliamentarians' relatives

Following reports of abductions of two relatives and a secretary of Tamil National Alliance (TNA) parliamentarians in Batticaloa, by Sri Lanka Army (SLA) operated paramilitary Pillayan Group, the European Union, on Thursday, condemning abductions said it was deeply concerned by disturbing reports of abductions of a number of civilians connected to members of the Sri Lankan parliament. Kidnapping is the behaviour of terrorists and the EU condemns it without reservation, said a press release issued by the British High Commission, acting as local EU Presidency on behalf of Portugal.
Full text of the press release follows:

EUROPEAN UNION CONDEMNS ABDUCTION

The British High Commission issued the following statement on behalf of the European Union:

The European Union is deeply concerned by disturbing reports of abductions of a number of civilians connected to members of the Sri Lankan parliament. Kidnapping is the behaviour of terrorists and the EU condemns it without reservation.

We call upon those holding the individuals to release them immediately and without harm. We urge those with any influence over the kidnappers to work urgently to this end.

We offer support to all those who seek to fully uphold and safeguard democratic values and the rule of law.

SLMC leader Rauff Hakeem today said that the government is trying to change the demography in the Eastern province by way of settlements and land grabbing.


Finally Hakeem started telling the truth, it looks like.

How many budget votes still left?
These guys seem to spend more money in preparing the budget than the amount =they have to play with=.
Looks like JVP is expecting a certain percentage for their votes.

but why is Hakeem talking about it now.

This has been going on CONTINUOUSLY since the 1950s. Has Hakeem just woken up. On few occassions even Muslims were displaced to make Sinhalese colonies.

Unless people act, Batticaloa is going to be called Rajapakshapura in the not too distant future.

Dont hesitate or dont be shame to tell that you are supporting GOSL with Mega Cabinet.

*Economy didn?t break down as many expected and is growing in a healthy rate.


Then how come a Pol Beeya 20 Rs and Bread around 40 Rs??
