JVP has another option that is to devide their votes and give MR enough to pass the budget.

My hunch is that JVP will vote against the Budget for two reasons.

1. They have gone public saying they will vote against the Budget on the 14th. Having said so, they will lose credibility if they vote for the Budget. I don't think they will want that.

2. Their leverage is greater when the govt. is forced to present another Budget with a new Cabinet. The minority parties who support them now, particularly the CWC are likely to follow the SLMC, and the govt. has less compulsion to depend on the minority parties and look for support from hardliners like the JHU who are in any case with the govt and the JVP. Even the UNP rebels, at least those tainted with corruption may have to be sacrificed as a price for JVP support.

Coming days are going to be quite interesting.

Dogs urinate to mark their territory.
Sinhala Buddhist mad dogs backed by Rajapaksha Junta and JHU
erect Buddha statues for that purpose.

In Arugam Bay a large Buddha statue was placed opposite the main STF camp at the foot of the Arugam Bay Bridge. It should be noted there are no Buddhists residing in the vicinity. Immediately after tsunami another Buddha statue was erected by Ullai town on the beach. USAID which is building a bridge in the area was forced to shift the location of the bridge to avoid shifting the location of the statue.

In Pottuvil town a sign board which states that Sri Lanka is a Buddhist country and belongs only to the Buddhist was placed on a Bo tree. The sign board which was installed a couple of years ago is in Sinhala.

The following article by Sakuntala Perera highlight the problems Muslims face:

I think, HYS is Sakunthala.

Any way, we need some changes to stop these circus in the parliament.

Mega -cabinets, MPs jumping from side to side, Corruptions, Politicians trying to decide everything, Politicians are in the parliament but people are voting for the party. All these should be stopped.

P007 :

Totoally agree with you!!!.

What i want to see MORE THAN ANYTHING else is the JVP and MR getting together to rule the country! :)

MR 'on his own' has the brought the country to the brink of economic collasp, international isolation and lawlessness with thugs and murderes running the day. Just imagine the destruction MR can cuase if the JVP is there to help him! :)

My personal opinion is - its a little too early for the UNP bring down this govt. They should wait for another six months to a year - so that MR and his PLUNDERING SWINEs Family can finish the job of economic and social destruction + plunder they are carrying out so efficiently under the cover of war. The fools who voted for MR have to learn a lesson they will never forget.

So im 109% hoping for a JVP + MR govt.

Karu-Mahinda-WeeraMONKEY Punnakku Rajayata JAYAWEEWA!!!

Bonggo - just been busy man. Year end is comming and soo much to finish. I dont know if ill even get a break for Christmas and new years. Cant make to SL for sure :(

Hi Mr. Brown,

I am deeply shocked to see Bitter Truth's post about the statues of Lord Buddha. Where are the ethics?

There should be an open system and not one decided by politicians.

Even the candidate before parliament election should be based on people liking.

Only the top bureaucratic posts should be selected based on both the qualifications and also their political convictions.

They began a national list to appoint capable people to the parliament. Now, thieves are appointed under that list.

Simply politicians are not accountable to voters.

It looks like the present Govt does not care about those things. JVP is also the same. They are for themselves. That is even after killing 150,000 youngsters.

They can stay from voting.

Even if they vote for the govt, they use it for them if they are intelligent.

I don't think playing games would work any more in Sri Lanka.
