Rauff Hakeem's price went up. he knows how to bargain.

If the government gets JVP support, Rauff Hakeem feels the pain of loosing all the benifits as a minister.

Don't forget Ranil is not a saint and had a jumbo cabinet when he was PM.

Of course. Most of our politicians are shameless crooks who put their pockets ahead of the future of the country. While brave soldiers sacrificing their lives trying to defend the territorial integrity of the country, crooks are busy fattening their pockets. Thats how it has been for decades. Nothing new.

ShanA,

These jumbo cabinets became a necessity because of the dirty politics of the opposition whether it's UNP or SLFP. Nobody can humbly accept the defeat. Opposition always try to topple the government the day they go to the opposition.

Unless the number of Cabinet and other Ministers is restricted to 25 with an amendment to the Constitution, we will see the unfortunate continuation of this horrible trend.

My little Tiger Schnitzel..

You know what pucho.. tearing apart your lies with such regularity compels me to pause and reflect!!.. when you think about it, its almost akin to beating up a retarded child!!.. :O/

I really do sympathise with your predicament kiddo.. this mental block that you seem to suffer increasingly .. its understandable!!.. must be tough having to swallow such disheartening news from your all talking Wanni Felines on an almost daily basis!!..

So tell me!!..

Since you did prophesise some time last year or earlier this year.. if I recall.. that Jaffna and Trincomalee would be under Tiger control by the time VP delivered his yearly sermon!!.. hows that plan proceeding??.. looks to me like your great ''Thalivar'' is stuck down at Adampan!!.. Hilarious!!.. :O))))

Bitter Truth,

I read that article, the Thero has supposedly made that statement to Veerakesari newspaper.

It has some factual errors and does not highlight the problems faced by the Muslims and Tamils in the East. The following article by Sakuntala Perera highlight the problems Muslims face:

That is exactly what I would suggest: Fix number of ministries and if President needs more ministers, he should get that approved by 2/3 in Parliament. If government likes, there can be a rotational system. An MP become a minister for a year without having his own staff. Pool of MPs can be predefined for a ministry so that policies can be agreed for the whole 6 years. I think we should not have more than 25 ministers and can have about 50 deputy ministers without same privileges as the ministers.

This is a day dream considering our politics in Sri Lanka. It would be great if somebody can fix this mess.
