Now attention will shift to the JVP who hold the whip hand.

My understanding is that if the Budget is defeated the govt. doesn't automatically fall but the Cabinet gets dissolved and a new Cabinet must be sworn in whose task will be to present a new Budget. If that Budget also gets defeated, then there has to be elections.

If this is correct, JVP can vote against this Budget and force a new Cabinet. Govt.'s only choice is to somehow get JVP's support to stay in power. There will be some hard bargain and there has to be an agreement between the Govt. and JVP to avoid elections as neither wants an election.

Attrition is taking place at a rapid rate on LTTE side. They are out of fresh recruits. Now, their so called elite in the battle. Next would be the most lethal makkal padai with broomsticks.

I believe JVP know this fact very well, and will act accordingly.

Exactly true. The winner is JVP for time being. But, I feel JVP will not let this govt fall. Biggest stumbling block will be reduction of cabinet which is one of the JVP demands. None of the corrupt carreer politicians would agree to that.

Possible outcome is JVP joining the govt with smaller cabinet.

JVP has another option that is to devide their votes and give MR enough to pass the budget.

That is a possibility too. What if they abstain?

I see that the little Prat has reappeared in this thread!!.. :O)))

Why pucho.. thought I left huh??.. running away again??..

well night boy /sla set out to secure adampan but now still south of adampan as of yesterday

our friends like night boy and moby dick seem now even to disown news on sla websites.

Who disowned my little pooch!!.. we still stick by our news items!!.. can you??.. :O)))

Poor schmuck.. it's a shame the Charles Anthony Brigade, who have been ''apparently'' undertaking clearing operations since yesterday morning (UK time)!!.. have been unable to find a single body of an SLA soldier!!.. :O)))

And for that matter any weapons too!!.. :O)))

So these SL Special Forces that ''supposedly'' lost 20+ men and 75+ wounded were able to evacuate every single casualty!!.. Hilarious!!.. :O)))) .. what's incredible about this feat is the fact that these Special Forces units only operate in 8 to 10 man teams.. thus theses small groups while ''apparently'' beating a hasty retreat were able to carry with them every single one of their ''supposedly'' fallen comrades!!.. Truly Astounding!!.. :O))))

not that i will be surprised of the news from icrc but the very fact that they will ask me if i believe radio intercepts casualties

where was the toe hold, it was in manthai fdl and not in adampan which was accepted even by sla .YESTERDAY ltte even removed that toe hold by chopping off the toes.

''not that i will be surprised of the news from icrc''!!..

Lame kiddo.. Pathetic!!.. You haven't even got the courage to call the ICRC in Colombo to find out the number of Charles Anthony cadres passed over to the Wanni High Command in body bags!!.. Shame!!.. :O)))

''where was the toe hold, it was in manthai fdl and not in adampan''!!..

Like you even know where that is??..

This coming from a person who's never even step foot on the Island, never mind the NorthWest!!.. Hilarious!!.. :O)))

The little tyke has the audacity to question my statements when the little wiener makes bombastic claims like the following:

ltte collecting bodies and weapons so we know who did the licking.

latest ltte has recaptured the manthai fdl

most of them killed were from commando and sf who were leading the assault

Tell me.. going by your statements from earlier in the morning.. Have the Charles Anthony Brigade found any bodies yet??.. you know the hordes of SL Special Forces personnel lying discarded in the Battle Field according to you!!... :O))))

Why don't you show everyone here how the Tigers have discovered a vast field strewn with the bodies of SLA Special Forces!!.. Hilarious!!.. :O)))

These jumbo cabinets became a necessity because of the dirty politics of the opposition whether it's UNP or SLFP. Nobody can humbly accept the defeat. Opposition always try to topple the government the day they go to the opposition. We know how our politicians are. They never think about the country so crossovers with ministries even though some of them have nothing to do but to enjoy perks comes with the ministry. It is very disappointing but I don't see any change soon unless Military assumes power.

We need to change the political culture in Sri Lanka but how we can do that is up to our people who vote for these corrupt politicians. Don't forget Ranil is not a saint and had a jumbo cabinet when he was PM.
