Everyone`s a JVPer at Colombo campus

US Ambassador Robert O Blake delivered a lecture on US foreign policy at the Colombo University last week. Posters had sprung up all over campus against US actions in Iraq and other countries. Only a few students attended the lecture.
During the questions round, one student asked him about the US role in the Vietnam War. ?That`s a JVP question,? replied the Ambassador. ?What does it matter whose question it is,? said the student. ?We want an answer.? ?The JVP is asking this,? repeated the Ambassador. ?How does the Iraqi invasion fit into US foreign policy,? another student asked. ?These are all JVP questions,? the Ambassador said.
?An American by the name of John Perkins has written a book,? said yet another student. ?He talks about the manner in which America has destroyed the economies of other countries. This writer had been involved in such matters. What do you have to say about his revelations?? The Ambassador did not reply.
?There`s no point in asking him questions,? that student told the gathering. ?He might say John Perkins is a JVPer, too.? Everyone then left the hall, leaving behind just eight .
