As widely expected and feared by Muslim civilians in the East, the Government has already started Sinhalamization of the East even before the 300,000 civilians are resettled.
Sinhalisation of Muslim areas
A sense of this anger Hakeem got from his own General Secretary and MP, Hassan Ali who commented critically on the Sinhalisation of Muslim areas and the lack of opportunity for the Muslims in the eastern development programme, issues the Muslim Congress Leader was earlier made aware of by his constituents in the east.
To overcome this rising dissension, Hakeem despatched Hassan Ali to the north and east to find out what is happening first hand and report back before the High Command meeting on Saturday, which the General Secretary did.
Indeed, such was the anger felt by Hasan Ali, he was openly critical of the government?s actions in general and Environment Minister Champika Ranawaka?s in particular, prompting Minister G.L. Peiris in a state of panic to ask Hakeem whether the situation cannot be diffused through dialogue.
Interestingly, when the SLMC High Command met to decide how the party should vote on November 19, many members were out of Colombo and did not attend the meeting and it is the subsequent protests made on the party decision that prompted Hakeem to convene another meeting for December 1 to review the decision with a directive for all members to be present.
Prior to Saturday?s meeting, the party?s People?s Representative Committee and the Working Committee were to meet where Hassan Ali?s report and the developments that have taken place after the November 19 vote were to be discussed and a decision taken based on the ground realities.
Ratio of Sinhalese to Tamil speaking population has rocketted to 32% from 6%.

Don't pretend or even try solving this mess by making more mess and oppress more. Never will work or worked any where in the world. Specially, Tamils may minority in Srilanka, but NOT in the world. It is good that least some thing is happening now on track towards appropriate direction.
Who knows, SL will be in history for very wrong reason soon !! ?

Don t worry about AnuD, he s kicking up a fuss cos he knows teh Ceylon goverment is run by clowns and donkeys, who are begging aorund teh world for money. Come on, they borrowed money from Iran, then find out if they use that money for milatry hardware they break UN rules ( as stated by the US) how stupid are these guys and what about the Pakistani fiasco. The inflated goverment?!?!?! this country and goverment are a joke, and deep in his heart he knows it.
