Tamils/Velu/LTTE had the best chance for a negotiated settlement during Ranil's CFA. After a decade of economic and war mismanagement by CBK, the bone weary Sri Lankans were more than ready for even a radical devolution of power. We too were indeed thankful for Ranil for giving a pause to war and allowing a breather for economic recovery
But then, both Ranil and Velu blew it.
Velu utterly abused the CFA and Ranil surrounded him self with some cocktail circuit cronies that probably brain washed the fellow in to appeasing Velu.
The south simply could not take it anymore!
Why didn't the Tamils grab the opportunity and pressure Velu in to stop abusing the CFA? That was indeed the best moment for peace, and you guys blew it.
Now of course there's nothing much we can do about crying over split milk....

Wonder what name be given to Pillian? Remember, he could even be wrapped in yellow robe be even given a Bhikku name.
Perhaps a fitting name may be 'Tirikunaamale Darmaloka', a bhikku from Trinco. In Sinhala it means 'one from Trinco who would spread dharma all over the world,' I think..
