| Arugam Bay is on the list of the top ten surf points in the world. Town was destroyed during the tsunami and but life seems to be coming back to Arugam Bay. Mr. Brown can we have a LNP outing in Arugam Bay? I heard they have nice full moon beach parties over there. |

This is an excellent idea ... we can have a baila session too.
Arugam bay was a popular tourist destination until the troubled times took over. Who knows, the place could have been in ruins had it continued.
Get the industry growing but protect the place. |

| One of the many treasures of Eastern Sri Lanka. Batti and Trinco should also try and develop in tourism. |

| I believe during the CFA (at least during the early stages) this place was getting quite popular except of course after the tsunami. Quite a few hotels had sprung up and others were renovated according to some who visited there. I dont know what the conditions are right now though..... |

East is very scenic, and also nice mix of Tamil, Sinhalese and Muslim communities. But is very undeveloped after the battles between GOSL and LTTE and also tsunami, so tourism certainly is a way to bring money and develop the region. I never been to Arugam Bay, but Uppuveli beach is idylic and should easily attract people from other part of the world if publicised well. |
