Sri Lanka ruling party is to talk with the Marxist People`s Liberation Front (JVP) in the coming few days over its conditions to vote in support of the government.
The government parliamentary group that met last night took this decision and it has been informed informally to the JVP, government sources said adding that the latter has responded positively.
JVP leader Somawansa Amarasinghe set forth four conditions on November 13 to be fulfilled within six days to support the government at the budget voting.
He demanded the government to issue an order to abolish the ceasefire agreement and the All Party Representative Committee. Further he said the government should act to safeguard the territorial integrity, sovereignty and national security without limiting to statements. Also de demanded that the government should act to avoid the pressure from the United Nations over the violation of human rights of the country.
The JVP leader stated that the President could easily fulfill these conditions and the party would vote wholeheartedly to support the budget.

| They don't have a choice. As an independent party they will go off SL's political radar same with JHU. They can create a lot of noise but when it comes to votes its a different ball game. |

JVP Should support the current government, as it is the only government who has shown LTTE who they are and where they stand in the civil society.
The government has many short-comings. JVP is a great force to influence government in avoiding such short-comings.
JVP is like my annoying sister in my childhood days, who always wished me doing well and pointed my weaknesses (but do not want abandon me even if I shouted back at her on some occasions). |

JVP will support the GOSL at the end of the day!
JVP gets only few chances to show their power. so they dance, sign and jump.

Thiran,
JVP is like a big sister in the government in fact the folowing shows how they influence
This clearly shows that there is no point in CFA or APRCAs. What matters is a solution subsequent to defeating terrorism and creating fairness among all Lankans. Without that there won't be any peace.

Mako,
JVP does this just to make sure they are voices heard and they can create pressure on government that due to them the Government is in its current status. In a way its true. Despite many UNP crossovers you cannot trust the UNP on a day if things go bad they can turn the tables and Ranil will be wiping the Eric's **** again.

JRJ,
I hear your comment

But what else need to be done in your opinion, after Provincial Councils and Official Language act provides more than what a country require to exist as a united nation?
Do not forget the VP rejected Chandrika's Federal offer too. |
