Uduwe Dhammaloka is a so called Teli evangelist type buddhist monk. He has a 'special' life style and extra special close associates.
Naturally he would have felt that he needs Political power too!
Puli, we all are 'pruthagjana' as Buddha put it...lay people (including all types of priests!)! We all are sucepitible to all sorts of Sins!

Yes when I attended a pirith and bana by Uduwe Dhammaloka at one of my close Sinhala friend's place couple of years back.....he told me it has costed him a lot to get Dhammaloka to his place for Bana as his parents have insisted for him....I remember he saying that it is a package from dhammaloka for Bana....that means when you call him for Bana.....you need to get only his Public addressing system, Standatd charges for transport for him and his assistant monks, Dana Food should be as per his specification etc.....But he was saying all that is worth his bana

Those days they had 'Zellers' ice cream in Bamba..oppsoite HFC. Then we got Carnival. when i was working in Colpetty we go there after lunch!!
U get Green Cabin in bamba..indo Ceylon cafe..like Pera mentioned..Fountain cafe in Slave island..!! Saraswathi lodge and shathi vihar and also the famous Greenlands!
Then all those Muslim joints in bamba..
what a Life i had in Colombo specially coming from Jaffna in late 70's!
I go for all the Rugby matches..supported Police initially and then Havies..Micheal jayasekera was my favorites and I love to watch Charles Wijewardena's place kicking for the Police..( Chandrashan Perera was new to CH)
will i ever get back those days..!! SAD but can never forget it..
