Unable to conceal its ignominious losses at high seas any longer, LTTE finally released the names of the crew of an arms carrying ship destroyed by Sri Lanka Navy eight months ago.

A radio station operated by LTTE last week announced 13 names of the crew of the vessel 'Kiyoyi' that had been sunk by SL Navy in February this year. A senior defence official told defence.lk that the radio station IBC had announced the crew list comprising eight very senior level LTTE leaders on the 10th and 12th November 2007.

'However, the station gave out the full list in two parts, at to two separate news telecasts', he said.

When inquired of the reason for LTTE to declare the names after eight months from the attack, he said LTTE top brass has been under severe criticism for holding back information of the fate of the lower ranks from their family members.

'LTTE has been trying hard to save face from its Diaspora sympathisers by concealing its losses as much as possible. Yet, this practice has been considered as treacherous by LTTE junior ranks and their relatives', he said.

The crew list included five self styled 'Lieutenant Colonels', three 'Majors' and five 'Captains' as shown below:

*

Lt Col Ilamurugan (The captain of the ship)
*

Lt Col Kokulan
*

Lt Col Thennawan
*

Lt Col Kumanan
*

Lt Col Anguvendan
*

Major Sudarmani
*

Major Chelvam
*

Major Paralawan
*

Captain Vetrithambi
*

Captain Vidiwilly
*

Captain Kurumaran
*

Captain Shankar
*

Captain Thamilaranjan

The vessel Kiyoyi was sunk by the Navy on 28th February 2007 at a location 185 Nautical Miles South of Dondra head. LTTE had so far maintained silence over the losing of its floating armouries at sea while some politicians in the south and their media allies expressed cynicism over the navy's achievement in this regard.

There should be a motivation problem among LTTE junior cadres.

LTTE Destroys Tamil Culture

By Ven. Dr. Walpola Piyananda, Chief Nayake Thera of America

In Sri Lanka, the Sinhalese and Tamils lived in harmony for many centuries. They shared customs, cultures and traditions which helped to maintain a harmonious lifestyle in our country.

In Buddhist temples there was always a place of worship for Hindu devotees. The Buddhists even believe that the God Vishnu is the protector of Buddhism in Sri Lanka. God Subramanium or Skandha who is supposed to have resided in Kataragama is respected by most Sri Lankan Buddhists.

In fact all Sri Lankan Buddhists, when they perform any religious service, transfer merit to these deities.
...
Some notable facts that I wish to state here, are my own. Before 1983 the majority of students in the Colombo and Peradeniye Medical College and the Engineering Faculty were Tamil. In Sri Lanka, there were numerous Tamil doctors, engineers, and civil servants. We had a beautiful rapport with everyone, Sinhalese, Tamil, Muslim and Burghers. So why is it different now?
...
It is obvious the root cause is due to the ruthless, terrorist organization led by Velupillai Prabhakaran. The LTTE cadre forced the educated professional Tamils to flee the country. The terrorists did not leave the families of the immigrants alone. They were harassed, ransoms demanded, jewelry and property taken by force. The children were kidnapped, forced into army training camps. It did not end there the Tamils who remained were tortured by the LTTE.
...
The LTTE killed not only the Sinhala politicians such as President Premadasa, Gamini Dissanayaka, Lalith Athulathmudali, but also killed Amirthalingum, Kadiragama, Tiruchellum and many other distinguished, educated politicians. The LTTE killed the Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Ghandi, an international figure in May 1991. This resulted in a no faith attitude towards the Sri Lankan Tamils by the Indians. Moreover due to the LTTE terrorist activities the world has begun to shun not only Sri Lankan Tamils, but all Tamils.

Even though the Tamils are a religious and non-violent group of people who try to preserve their ancient traditions, yet the world has come to view them in a different light. Today, some Tamils who fear the LTTE have come to Colombo, the capital to live with the Sinhalese. In fact, now in Colombo the majority are Tamils.

Razaka

Can we have the list of over one hundred Lieutenants, captains and commanders name list who were processed to R.I.P in Killaly & Muhamaalai by LTTE on the day Malinda mama submitted the budget in Parliament...also now every day on an average 10 to 20 made army guys made R.I.P or made out of action in north and East...details carefully avoided in colombo media......which is also asked by UNP in parliment now....Do not worry about LTTE guys getting killed in action.... when they join LTTE movement they are prepared for a early depature from this world without getting caught by Sinhala war criminals.....but not the Sinhala army...who joined the GOSL army to support their families survival
