Sure, first he didn't like 'deputy' ministership. Then when he was offered a non-cabinet portfolio, he resigned from the non-cabinet citing lack of own secretary and facilities.
He was mentioning a capable Justice minister should be appointed in his speech in parliament. If MR offers him the Justice ministry, sure he will be back!

should be around 10.
why it can not be done for such a small country.
Even in the USA there are less than 20 ministers.

Probably it is a fight between ideals and the political decisions.
Did you mean principles and practicality?
Yes that's exactly that. But If MR allowed pursuing charges against all the accused and fire the guilty would it harm the government. I think it wouldn't.
Even before these corrupted UNPiers come to join him they made a government.
If MR is honest and wants to start a new culture of politics as people expect from him he will be stronger. People would rally around him. Even he failed to control JVP he could go for a general election with confidence after doing this.
Although he is the best bet so far to defeat terrorism in SL we have to agree that he also is shying to act against corruption for some reason. Yes. He might be one of them.
Mr W Rajapakse is correct being straight against corruption and it is unprecedented. But it is a joke to join with the base of corruption in order to protest corruption.
There were repeatedly elected politicians in SLFP like Wijayananda Dahanayake, Daya Pasqual who served people as honest politicians. They did earn nothing from politics apart from the respect of people. We want back that type of political culture in Sri Lanka. That is what we expected electing MR.
Can't he be practical while sticking to the principles of the party?????????

The biggest crooks are Mahinda Rajapakse and his American brothers.
This president leads by example. He and his brothers are taking the country's treasury to the cleaners so why not his faithful hooters in his government? Goatboyo, Basil and PB Jayasundera appear to be the biggest culprits.
Wijedasa Rajapakse is a rarity in the Sri Lankan political scene for a long time.
Now we have to wait and see the dirt that is going to be heaped up on this man by the Rajapakse clan and their minnions. |
