British CID is milking Karuna on his involvement in crimes against humanity while an LTTE Col and how Government soldiers helped him by kidnapping children on his behalf and proctecting his cadres.
Britain is embarrassed on how it was duped by another govt, Sri Lankan, into giving diplomatic visa to one Kokila Gunawardena but with Karuna's photo on it without his trade mark moustage.

Claymore explosion in Yala amid tightened security

At least one construction worker was killed and another wounded in a Claymore mine explosion inside the Yala sanctuary, one of the island's main tourist attractions, Saturday evening around 6:45, Police said. The attack comes in the wake of Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa advising his political adviser and brother, Basil Rajapaksa, a national list parliamentarian, to set a Joint Operations Command (JOC) in Thissamaharama. Mr. Basil Rajapaksa led a high-powered delegation to Thisssamaharama earlier in the day and decided to arm Sinhala farmers, in addition to setting up a JOC. |

50 years of struggles, 27 years peaceful and 23 years armed, but, neither Sri Lankan government nor the International Community realised that Sinhala Buddhism will never share power with nor devolve power to the minorities.
Tamils bear the brunt of the war while fer Muslim and Tamil 'leaders' are lured into ministerial posts and perks of different types.
Karuna was also cheated and fooled into promise of sharing power but only to be found locked up in London with another split in his group masterminded and carried out by the military.
