This is true and that is also the difference between the two races. Tamils feel for their brothers and sisters irrespective of origin or social standing. Many a Sinhala leaders and worriers have fallen without a sound from the so called patriots.

LTTE lacks manpower...
LTTE never relied on quantity but quality.In the seventies and even in the early eighties,lot of youths wanted to join the Tigers, on the spur of the moment.
But LTTE was very choosy and did not take in all those who wanted join the movement.
The Tigers took in people who were really devoted to the cause.
The youths who were rejected by LTTE joined the other movements ,who were supposed to be fighting for Thamileelam.
They later turned out to be traitors.
I can recall a chat I had two years ago with one of my relative ,who now lives in Europe,what he told me about PLOTE.
He was the intelligence chief of PLOTE in the late seventies and early eighties,when they were operating from Thamil Nadu.
One day while having a chit chat,he said that there were more than 7,000 caders in the POTE in the seventies.
I was surprised and immediately asked him,if PLOTE had so many fighters in their movement in the seventies, they could have easily defeated the sinhala army,which was not strong in man power and arms,like they are today.
For that he said,the leadership-led by UMA Maheswaren,was not not keen about it.
At that time LTTE had less than thousand caders.
Hope you would understand to some extent,the thinking of the Tigers.
They are a differnt brand.
