This is how the SL military see it according to their website.

Decomposed LTTE dead bodies buried
The fast decomposing nature of the twenty mutilated bodies of Tiger terrorists died in Monday's (22) pre dawn attack on the Anuradhapura Air Force Base had to be buried consequent upon judicial medical procedure and post mortem at Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital late on Tuesday (23) following a magisterial order given by Anuradhapura magistrate.

Many of those dead bodies were found strewn over the affected base with many organs and limbs severed as a result of the explosives those terrorists were carrying with them.

Some of those had been reduced to lumps of flesh which were completely disturbing in nature.

Those corpses in utter state of decomposition were brought down to the hospital mortuary for necessary investigations and judicial procedures.

Many of those wearing Air Force-type camouflage LTTE uniforms had to be stripped off in order to remove their hidden suicide devices or other explosives tied around their person and waists. Afterwards those corpses were covered with polythene.

Following the completion of legal procedures, the Anuradhapura magistrate ordered the Police to bury the remains in view of their fast decaying nature.

Earlier, the troops informed the ICRC to accept those decomposed bodies to be taken to the LTTE.

Hey this is not the first time SL media published such pictures. I have seen many over the years.
Ex. Remember blown suicide LTTE carders, burnt JVP bodies etc. No big deal.
