Hi Nada,
Take it easy. Many of us know very well about Pera's skills in SARCASM.
But today, he has lept bounds and territories to tarnish your image. I too was shocked to read his comments about not respecting the DEAD.
Not only him , many here think it is correct to disrespect the dead. God bless them.
Have you ever wondered why he refers to names of certain notorious places in Colombo. Today I read one written by him as Kaapiri mudukkuwa. Exposure means a lot.
Enjoy the revelation!!

Hi Fairplay,
Silence is Golden, specially when the enemy is unknown.
History says that it all started with bestiality, incest, patricide, wantonnes, betrayal....you remember the Sinhala king who was entombed alive by the son?
In one way we should not worry about naked dead bodies after all! In 1956 there were already naked living people were running at Galle Face, long before LTTE started to attack any army camps!
Why even in 1971 the Kataragama Kumari was taken on a parade stark naked before she was killed in front of so many
In 1982 a young girl in a remote village called Eetanawatte in the Wariyapola police area was stripped naked and raped in front of the whole village and later the rapist committed suicide. Not a single veeraya went to her rescue or bothered to inform the police. There were men and women enjoying the show.
So Fairplay we must understand the cultural pattern before pointing our fingers.

Pera,
I have noticed a distinction in your writing style in the
recent weeks. Grammatical improvements are explicit and varies from message to message.
Tell me, who is your DOUBLE writing here alternatively with you.
Just the last message to me is NOT YOUR STANDARD OF ENGLISH! I have read you for the last 2 years.

What's this incident that I never seem to have heard of??
During the 1971 JVP terrorist attacks againt the GOSL this pretty Sinhala Girl from matara (who was previously crowned as Kataragama beauti or Kumari)was arrested by the local army officer, made naked and taken on a procession in the town and then shot and killed her in public view.
I think a statue still stands in her memory. The brave soldier later died in prison if I am not mistaken. |
