one idiot is serving you remember thousands of idiots elected him/her
True!
the elected idiots can be deselected after their tenure unlike people who are self-proclaimed as leaders where upon they get godly treatment by a bunch of idiots too. This is the issue for the tamil terrorism for the last 30 odd years. No one comes to challenge this big self proclaimed dictator.

A product monopolizes the market only until a similar or better product comes into the market. This is one of the critical questions politicians refuse to ask.
Why are generally god fearing law abiding people supporting LTTE? |

Simple! If you go against you will see the heaven quicker like Dr Thiruchchelvam, Dr Thiranagama, Amirthalingam, etc. So no one fears to talk against the LTTE. Be honest, tell me if I am wrong?

Most people who help LTTE are beyond the reach of LTTE if they chose that root.
I am not being bias, this is honest fact. |

So that means most of them support death, destruction and mayhem to the positive dialogue and devolution or thereabouts? This also shows that this is the problem (without being flexible there is no way out to this mess). Do you think?

Negotiation is a two way street. Having said that there should be two important factors as I see it. A just solution on the table that would give hope to the population and the govt must be honest and capable of enforcing it if agreed.
Lets look at how we got where we are. LTTE and other groups were there from the mid 70's. But there was a Tamil political voice too but no one in the south heard it but they heard the military noise of the LTTE. JR took the easy way out by making LTTE the voice of Tamils. Tamils need LTTE because Govt after Govt made Tamils dependent on the LTTE. |

The problem with the LTTE is that they are a fascist militant group not a democratic political wing to associate for commoners issue. So long as this continues this is like give into Taleban than restoring the democratic voice.
If we go on separate ways it will end up like sleeping with an enemy. I don't think that is healthy for either Sinhalese or tamils. There must be a meaning for this long standing unease than trying to create segregation, don't you think this needs democratic frame work?
How long do you think LTTE can continue this monolithic stance for?

This may be true: may be not. But what other choice 'did' the people have? LTTE has never said or pretended to be a democratic movement, so in other words people accepted it knowing it and also knowing it had no other choice. On the other hand was GOSL ever a democracy other than in voting?
Right now there is no such thing as commoners issues as everyone is facing the same issues and is a human tragedy.
Division of the country should never be the first solution but the last option. I think Mathma Gandhi said it best when he said if India is to get independence through bloodshed and hatred he wants no part of it.
don't you think this needs democratic frame work?
I am not sure about this. Some times I feel a military government in Colombo will better serve the country.
