You seem to have forgotten the good times when TASSLs dominated the forces, police and administration. I have myself experienced discrimination (I was nearly killed due to that)in the hands of a 'Tamil' major... but I have no remorse.
The armed forces of a nation should not discriminate based on race-ethnicity. A Tamil major cannot and should not kill a Sinhalese person just because he/she is Sinhalese and thats true the other way around too.
However, what is happening in SL is that the government has ethnically cleansed the armed forces to be almost purely Sinhala and excluded more 25% of the population from proper representation. This is wrong. Do you agree with me or not?
What some SWETs (different from TASSLs)don't want to see is the large numbers of TASSLs who never want to associate themselves with SWETs... and living among other Sri Lankans.
SWETs cannot BY FORCE represent all TASSLs... If GOSL does not select folks ethnically, how can SWETs do that?
There are almost no armed Tamils in the Sri Lankan armed forces. You tell me what organization the armed Tamils of Sri Lanka/ceylon predominantly belong to?
So you can keep singing these songs of non-existent 'Tamil' homeland... while TASSLs are privileged to live in every nook and corner of the country... and trying to keep an additional homeland called Peelam to the select few... at the same time.
It just doesn't sound right to me to prevent free movement of all Sri Lankans to N&E parts of the country.
Why not?
Tamils are allowed to live in every part of the country because the Sri Lankan government wants to keep them as second class citizens vulnerable to low key genocide and ethnic cleaning. Tamils want to live peacefully as neighbors. If Sinhalese from outside of NE or anyone else wants to live in Tamil Eelam, they have to respect the immigration laws of Tamil Eelam just like Mexicans coming into the USA need to.
