Berty

It is a very unfair statement..

Ok. Sorry.

Tamils who are arrested without reason are held under the Terrorism act without being Charged..if a Man is innocent, he will rather die than be tortured in the hands of the forces.

Correct. of course all cases should be legally examined. More the delay, less the credibility of the Govt HR record.

But please remind yourself that we are fighting one of the most ruthless terrorist outfits in the world, that would not hesitate to masquerade its suicide bombers in to pregnant mothers....in this backdrop, its very hard for the state to distinguish between innocent civilians and terrorists masquerading as a civilians. HR are the first casualty in terrorism.

BTW Berty, I don't seem to recall you voicing the same concern to the prisoners tortured under LTTE.

July 16, Colombo: Eleven Tamil civilians, who had been detained by the LTTE in Thoppigala were able to escape from the LTTE custody and reach troops in Batticaloa, the military said.

The escaped Tamil aged between 15 to 40 years were residents of Mavadivembu, Valaichennnai, Vandaramoolai, Batticaloa, Illupdichenai and Kannankuda.

?These innocent civilians complained bitterly that they had been confined to small cells fitted with iron bars meant for LTTE prisoners who were mainly their own cadres forcibly recruited by the LTTE but caught in attempting to escape,? a senior military official said.

Security forces captured these ?prisons? and ?torture? cells constructed by the LTTE during the latest military operation.

The civilians had reportedly been given tasks to bury anti personnel mines, construct booby traps and set up bombs against the Sri Lankan troops.

Perhaps me being a late entry in to this forum, made me miss your comments. Being a moderate, I'm sure you must have voiced the same concern. Can you please direct me to the relevant comments, so that I can educate and restrain my self from uttering crude jokes about Tamils in Jails in future? Thanks.

No doubt LTTE has got blood in their hand on this, because if any other party wants to do it they do not have to wait for him come to Colombo to do it

People have a right to protest. Sri Lankan prison authorities should take whatever steps to guarantee that right of these prisoners. They should never let anyone to intervene to stop these people staging their protest, before they die.

Mucho,

They should never let anyone to intervene to stop these people staging their protest, before they die.

thats want UK prison authorities did to Bobby Sands (IRA) who died in the HM Prison Maze after 66 days of hunger strike :) in 1981.

Madayans who believe UK are good for minorities have conveniently forgotten those facts.

Cheers

I think i told you the full story of St John's Principal Mr C.E Anandarajah. he is actually related to me..well he is a very caring Peace loving person..so during that time he organized a Cricket Match between the St John's college boys and the Sl Army..This did not go well with the LTTE boys..Since they knew CEA is a very helpful person, they called him early morning asking to help since there is someone CEA knew was sick. he rushded to Rakka lane where he was Gun Down..very Cowardly act..

I also answered your earlier question on God and whether he is responisble..I hope you read that.

Berty,

Yes, CEA was killed by LTTE thugs.
Rajini Thiranagama was killed by the LTTE thugs.
VC of the batti Uni was abducted (and no news so far) by Karuna's thugs.

Moreover LTTE thugs are after Prof Hoole's blood.

Nothing to do with Sinhala people :)
