Ltte have consistently been using fishing crafts for military purposes...
deep sea trawlers have been used to smuggle weapons...and smaller fiberglass dinghies have been used as attack craft hooked up heavy machine guns... These even have twin barrel heavy machine guns which are AA capable mounted on them...
the latter is used mainly due to ample availablity, low cost, east transport and less power requirement to attain higher speeds etc...
Both these boats can easily blend in with the fisherfolk cos none of them 'appear' to be hostile at a distance...

Around 200 family members and relatives of the missing persons took part in a demonstration in front of the UN Office, located on Bullers Road in Colombo 07 when the CMC representatives together with the family members of the missing persons met Ms. Louise Arbour.

A very warm welcome to Arbour in Banana Lanka.

ML

I am sure you know as per Hindu astrology (followed by Tamils and Sinhalese in sri lanka) the influence of Planet Saturn is very significant...and this happens in any man's life three times.....meaning the planet Saturn stays in each rassi for 30 months (2.5 years)....after Saturn stays in 12 rassis just after 30 years it comes to the same raasi again...when it happens to any man third time it is considered bad Shani or death sani...during putassai masaam those who have Shani implications will fast and go to temple to burn gingely (ellu / tala in sinhala) in gingely oil...hope now you are bit clear about this puratasi maasam and significance of planet shani in every man's life time...Sinhala people call it senasu appaley

Hello Dauntless

Can i ask You something..

if the ship (the last one) was fired upon and if it was carrying weapons..why there were NO shooting from the ship..!!

I am sure those Sea Tigers who are smuggling weapons who are basically taking the same route as the other ships also destroyed would have been well aware of the danger of an attack by the SLN and they would have been ready to give a fight..am I right? no fighting or shooting were reported..why?
