f every Tamil behaves like you, and keep harping the '83 riots over and over again,
That is the genuine fear that Tamils justifiably have, because, nothing has changed, except the army is deployed in the Northeast in much larger numbers and even the basic essentials are denied to Tamils. Hitherto no proposals for a negotiated resolution of the conflict are tabled except a lot of hotair.

Just because you don't believe what you see it dose not make it ok.
Women are raped everyday by the Singala politicians and all it takes is a little money and all is well.
Soon they will be selling their daughters just like in Thailand. This is how it starts. Soon we will be see Sinhala women in every brothel in the world. Not to say there are none now but a lot more I am sure. |

Have not the South burnt their fingers EVERY TIME they tried to experiment with peace with VELU???
CBK offered Velu ISGA, and lost an eye for her kindness. Ranil gave Velu everything and the fellow was unceremoniously booted out by Velu. As soon as MR was elected, Velu gave him no chance and killed 150 troops on Dec 2005, even before MR had a chance rest his presidential posterior on the Hot Seat.

Even with all the Violence Velu has done, I think you should be grateful to the ppl of this country for keeping their minds open to devolution and power sharing.

No doubt you underwent a lot of Trauma in the past, Nirupam. But if you want peace, then backing Velu and Harping the'83 riots as an excuse for his violence is futile, if a reconciliation is ever to be made between south and north.

Saying something and doing it are 2 different things.
NO GoSL has ever kept its part of the any deal. They were bombing and killing Tamils even when the negotiations were going on. GoSL and the politicians who are in power tend to make a lot of money as long as the war is on and none of them want to see peace.
There are whole departments under the government who exist only because of the war. If the war is over they will have no where to go and no more income.
These people will make sure the war goes on and on. |

You must have confused with events. CBK did a coup and took over key ministries to jeopadise evryrthing just before UNP Govt was about to start talk on LTTE's ISGA.
Can you tell me what proposals were tabled for negotiations by any govt?
JR offered empty DCs in to then Opposition Leader, Amirthalingam in 1977 and PCs to Varatharajaperumal in 1987 only to find they were fakes to cheat those ever-ready-to-compromise leaders and they themdelves backed off. Tamils were always willing to compromise first 1. with Regional Councils in 1957 and later 2. District Councils in 1965 , both were sabotaged by JR and Mrs Srimavo B respectively with (un)holy alliance with unholy Sinhala Buddhist monks. |

Karuna the snake only now realize that he has been taken for a ride and is trying to find his way back to LTTE.
He has pro oven to not only be a traitor but also a thief.
No one will touch him at least not among the Tamils . The Sinhalese can have him. Do what you want with him. Just remember he knows where everything is as far as the SLA is concerned. He will be dangerous in the hands of the enemy. |

They have nothing ziltch. Just talk without any logic or reason. If everything fails they will call upon their history,and if that fails they will just say anything just to squeeze some cash from the IC but never keep their word.
LTTE got fed up with it and decided not to even bother negotiating, and they are absolutely correct. What it the point.
In making any kind of deal there is an underlining principle ie. keep your word. But no one told the GoSL that. So they just say yes in public and do not honor their words. |
