Pornographic video shows Monk in sex act
Friday, 5 October 2007 - 7:14 AM SL Time

Compact video discs depicting a man in yellow robes having sexual intercourse with a woman were recovered from a video parlour in Wanchawala, Galle yesterday by the Southern Province Crime Bureau. The sound track and background music to the show leads the viewer to believe that the scene was filmed within the premises of a Buddhist temple.
The raid was conducted on the direction of Southern Province DIG Jayantha Gamage following information received from the Chief Monk of a temple in Ratnapura. The monk in his complaint said that an organized party is engaged in this sort of campaign through this particular video parlour to bring disrepute to Buddhism. The raiding party also recovered several other pornographic video discs and a computer from the same video parlour.
The owner of the video parlour was being intensively interrogated by Crime Bureau sleuths to: ascertain the identity of the man who was in yellow robes and his partner: whether the disc was recorded within the premises of a Buddhist temple and if so where: who supplied the CDs to the `parlour`: how many have been distributed and the areas to which the CDs have been sent.

All Police stations in Galle have been directed to conduct raids on video parlours to find whether similar or any other pornographic CDs were available for sale. In yesterday`s raid a PC and a WPC acted as decoys with a Rs 100 currency note. Police swooped on the parlour when the owner was in the process of selling the CD to the decoys.
According to IP L. A. Gunaratne of the Crime Bureau, the couple on the CD had engaged in sex four times throughout the

duration of the porn show. The suspect was was due to be produced before court yesterday.
IP L. A. Gunaratne, SI L. A. N. Karunaratne, PS 58812 Dias, 32108 Keerthi, 39037 Sarath and 2262 WPC Sarani are conducting further investigations on the direction of DIG, Jayantha Gamage.

It seems that MR.BROWN is more interested in news items about the conduct of Buddhist Monks than anything else. For example, during the last couple of weeks, MR.BROWN so generously published more than 4 news items about the conduct of Buddhist Monks (if I am correct), while paying no attention to more important developments like UNP's decision to shed Federalism as a policy. If not for some concerned members who brought that up in unrelated threads, such things would never have been discussed.

Not that I am concerned about the undue attention given to the conduct of Buddhist monks, but it is good if MR.BROWN, as the moderator, can maintain a fair balance when publishing news items.

I hope MR.BROWN will read this.

i do not want to justify M.B's action , but i dont find any wrong doing in it , we all know that , not all of them wrong , but few who make the top hierarchy suppose to teach and practice peaceful means , taking arms and war path as a CHOICE , Buddhism is a good way of live peacefully , i dont understand why srilanka is in WAR PATH and blood bath .
