Why call the Tigers for peace talks?
the government is calling for peace becuase of pressure from IC.simply a political game. besides, LTTE was asking IC to step in to the east to halt the government's offensive.
cheaf of the SLA pledged that the east will be free from tiger within next two months. if tigers don't agree for talk, offensive in the east will continue from both sides.
however, at this moment, it is highly likely that tigers to be considered this opportunity to recover from their losses.
I beleive tigers will give the green light to talks. |

The govt. wants to do its best to get the 4.5 billions. After all they have perfected begging and deceiving the international community to a fine art.
Just after the donors talked about $4.5B,the new Rambutan has got his silly act together quickly.
Minister Rambukwella however said the international community had realised the conflict in Sri Lanka stems from terrorism and recalled that President Mahinda Rajapaksa, at the development forum, categorically stated terrorism will have to be eliminated.'Past Presidents have not spoken on what the reality is, but President Rajapaksa made it clear that the Government will continue to eliminate terrorism.
If the international community has realised this then why are they insisting this clearly
'We remain unwavering in our conviction that there can be no military solution to this terrible conflict,' said Robert Blake, US ambassador to Sri Lanka.
He urged Sri Lanka to 'seize the opportunity to forge a power-sharing deal that can form the basis for talks' with the separatist Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), at a time when the Sri Lankan military has vowed to step up attacks against the rebels. |

Bottom line is this... US Ambassador and all of IC had accepted LTTE as the proper representative of Tamils. There is no justification for this MR guy to wage a war! |

Rajapakse urged to help free abducted academic
IANS Jan 31 14:35 GMT
The wife of a former vice chancellor in Sri Lanka who went missing from a high-security zone in Colombo around 45 days ago has pleaded with President Mahinda Rajapakse to help free the man.In a letter to the president, the wife of S. Raveendranath, who headed the Eastern University in Batticaloa town when he was abducted, said she was making a 'humble' request to secure the release of her 55-year-old sick husband. The abductors were widely believed to be the breakaway Tamil Tigers faction headed by Karuna. Apparently they wanted Raveendranath, who is from the north of the island, out of the university located in a zone they consider their own Edited By - Sintamus - 1 Feb 2007 05:09:27 GMT |

We can resolve our differences among ourselves if we are honest and respect others. If we are honest we will honour the agreements we sign.
The abrogation of the MoU between the ruling Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) and the opposition United National Party (UNP) on Sunday, was only the latest in a series of disregarded, scuttled or torn up pacts in Sri Lanka since the mid 1950s.
As most of the pacts have been on the Tamil question - the main problem plaguing Sri Lanka since independence - their abrogation has had a very debilitating effect on the country.

Sinhala politicians only know how to cheat! they have been cheating their own Sinhala people since independence... Tamils got fed up with this nonsense and started their own feedom struggle... now this MR guy trying to kill the struggle... but, this kind of nonsense is good for IC to know who these Sinhala politicians really are...! they are bunch of cunning, untrustworthy, bunch of asses... |

Govt.seeks peace again
Why not Govt. Seeks 'Punnaku' to feed the racists, who are escalating this madness, for the sake of arms deals to earn money..
Whatever the dance the Mahinda'Aya' performed, finally he will have to come for negotiation, because of the deep trouble everybody facing in this country..
There is no alternative for it..
JHU & JVP will have to put in a sideline, because it is there character..To oppose everything..
They never care about the welfare of the country and people, only worry about their idiot ideology..
They are good for destabilizing the country and shout like frog..
So, Mr.President, please open your eyes..
Otherwise, half of your Patriot will die like the Americans in Iraq..
Success of this war is not depend on the number of Soldiers..
But,depend on the brain, how they are using it.. |
