Thurstan record fifth outright win

All rounder Umesh Karunaratne went past the 50 wicket barrier (52 in 10 matches), when he took a match bag of 8 wickets and helped Thurstan rout Maliyadeva College by innings and 8 runs in their Inter-School Elephant Lemonade Trophy Under-20 cricket match at Thurstan Grounds on Tuesday.
Incidentally, it was the fifth outright victory for Thurstan College this season.

Easy victory for Cambrians
Prince of Wales scored an easy 10 wicket victory over Revata College in their match concluded at Moratuwa, on Tuesday.
Having scored 266 runs in the first innings, the Cambrians restricted Revata College for 163 runs with Rajitha Mendis and Isuru Gunasena sharing 6 wickets between them. Then the Prince of Wales openers achieved the target without much fuss.

St. Benedict`s win after four years
A four year long victory drought of St. Benedict`s College came to an end when they beat minnows, Gurukula Vidyalaya, Kelaniya by 9 wickets in their Sri Lanka School Cricket Association arranged fixture at Kotahena on Tuesday.
The last time a Benedictine outfit beat a First XI side was in 2003. After St. Benedict`s beat St. Joseph`s College in 2003 they had not beaten a single First XI team until Tuesday.

Silvas in big stand
Being 54 for 4 at one stage in their second innings President`s College amassed a mammoth 329 for 9 declared with the help of a massive fifth wicket partnership of 224 runs between right hander Chamath Silva and left hander Sanath Silva who went on to score a century each in their encounter against Maris Stella which ended in a draw at Negombo on Tuesday.
Chamath Silva scored 110 runs (200 balls) inclusive of 14 fours and left hander Sanath Silva scored 20 boundaries in his 141 ball 144 runs.

Praboda and Malith thump half tons
A second innings 50 by Praboda Seneviratne and an unbeaten 76 runs by Malith Gunathilaka for Ananda College were the highlights on the second day in their match against Mahinda College which ended in a draw at Ananda Mawatha, on Tuesday.

A draw at Nalanda ground
The encounter between Nalanda College and Isipatana College ended in a tame draw at Nalanda grounds, on Tuesday. In reply to Nalanda College`s 226 for 8 declared, Isipatana were 171 for 7 at close.
