Sri lankan2007
can speak english better than his own mother tounge
my tamil is fluent but as i dont go to sri lanka regularly i do loose words here and there. also there are lot of sinhalese, tamils and muslims that dont know there mother tonue at all in london. most UK-born around my age group (early 20s) dont know their mother tongue at all, so it is hard to speak reguarly. |

People are trying to move on with their lives looking forward to a new generation free of racial hatred but people like you are still stuck in time, living and thriving on the miseries of the past!
Srilankan it may be the past for you, but for over 500,000 Tamils it is the very real and very brutal present, that is the number of Tamil IDPs in your country right now by conservative estimate? What has changed for them? NOTHING the Sinhalese stole they land then and they steal their land now, only the words and methods used have changed.
Then the government sent goons and criminals to beat and kill the people to take their land. Now they call it HSZ, and shell and bomb the people from their land? So what future do you want us the Tamil people to look to?
The only future we have is one seperate from your corrupt and filthy state. Likewis for the SInhalese people, only many of you do not see just how useless your governments and politicians are. |

By the way, why do you have to take and pick on a few words in my paragraph when you could have absorbed the essence of it.
sl2007,
i do understand the argument but its a little vague in substance like the Gosl!!. i dont know your background ie political knowledge so i am gonna be a bit vague here. tell me this in the last 50 yrs there has been many pacts/agreements done with the various tamil leaders and now with the LTTE. has the GOVT ever implemented any.
in name the lankan govt has ministers from all ethnic backgrounds . does it mean that all communities are represented.
the tamils in parliament(otherthan the TNA) arent representing the tamils. they are representing their wallets!! i hope this isnt news to you!!
the TNA is powerless unfortunately! Edited By - tamilcanuck - 31 Jan 2007 20:06:48 GM |

Saint: good job Keep the good work. we have to keep track of all the LTTErs and best solution to that is to be with their kind. This lead to the exposure of many LTTE terror cells in US and Canada.
We have to clean out the big ones first. |

Revy : before you go on bashing me about my beliefs with the srilankan polity, did you even care to ask me my opinion about same ?
No. so then dont assume that i am in love with the corrupt political system we have in place.
I wasn't bashing you? I am bashing your corrupt state.
As for forced settlements, yes Tamils could go to the south, but they didn't evict Sinhalese from their homes by force and take over. Likewise Sinhalese at one time could have gone to the NE, but instead in an effort to dismantle our homeland they forcefully occupied our homes, killing our people. You own president at the time claimed this as a great victory, so I'm not sure where you get the idea that this is propaganda. It is a well known fact.
I gave one example asked for by someone above: Manal Aru, go read about it and you tell me what is hogwash? |

My bad. thanks for pointing it out. I meant dougy. I will edit my post to reflect it
You may talk about forced settlements
manal ari became welioya with IRC (islands reconvicted criminals) being settled there. its called forced COLINISATION.
there is a handle by the name of atcharu (a gal i keep track opf all gals !) whose dad was one of the army dudes responsible for gurading these bozos.
but they didn't evict Sinhalese from their homes by force and take over.
key point by revy!
