i think its better for tamils in this forum to focus and talk about our own issues than to argue with some of these sinhala gov supporters who cant really interpret or argue their point well

the main issue is the humanitarian problems, with tamils displaced all over the the northeast. TRO (main charity that would help tamils most) is banned, aid workers were shot by the sinhala army last august, other aid workers were abducted last year. there is a big climate of fear to even to to those troubled zones and help those badly in need of help. many tamils are also leaving their houses in vavuniya and the east due to abductions, shootings and more likely to go to refugee camps.

but so far the politicians in power seem no different to those that created the problem in the first place.

I think current president is at least trying and to my deepest sympathy this will be the last chance to find a true answer for this problem because from now on most of the incoming Sri Lankan leaders will be exactly like blind animals since their problems are limited, booming natural reserves income will blind them and make them rich.

The urgency to make a good bargain and not to lose the opportunity will be essential under the current circumstances.

More crimes by Tamil Sri Lankans in Canada.

Rainman, seems you missed:

Robert Taylor, 38, of Mississauga;
George Porter, 48, of Toronto;
Junior Hainzworth (John) Horne, 41, of Toronto;
Peter Balfour, 40, of Toronto; and
A 17-year-old Toronto youth who cannot be identified.

Let's see 1 Tamil who may or may not be guilty, and 5 whites, yeah its a Tamil crime spree in Canada ;)

I think your MoDaya ministry has a job for you ;)

Despite the US backing the sinhala gov for a long time, i think only US policy is the one of very few chances for tamils

US will not give tamils a seperate eelam

like in iraq, the US supported iraq against iran, then to crush the kurd uprising, where 5,000 kurds were gassed to death in a single incident

then in the mid 90s, US imposed no fly zones in the kurd areas, and kurds were able to live peacefully and with more justice

now kurds have a lot of autonomy and dont have to worry about millitary incursions

tamils just have to hope a major superpower will realise the situation in sri lanka needs attention and long - due action. this would lead to the occupying sinhala army to leave, and allow tamils have more autonomy than federal states have in india. a turn in foreign policy by one of these powers is proabably one of a few realistic possiilities

Sissy pharoah,

The problem you are having is not limited to the debility, now it is hunger for fame and debility (you know why I called you debility? Because you are showing your utter ill manner), you see that's why I would like to use you as a stress eliminator or a punching bag.

Keep coming back I'll give you the punch to bounce, no problem here at all dude, just make sure your return.

Newly appointed Foreign Minister Rohitha Bogollagama had a surprise meeting with Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in New Delhi yesterday to discuss bilateral issues and issues related to the conflict in Sri Lanka.

First thing, the President or PM or ministers in SL, once they are selected to their position, is to run to India and pray the indian leaders?

Has anyone heard this tradition in any other countries? Even in African countries?

The Government meanwhile yesterday expressed ?regret? over the violence experienced in the country and said it will continue to go that extra mile to achieve peace

What happened? Why peace talks? Cannot the terrorist problem solved by military means? Liberate east, then north? or Is this a Drama to please donors and get money to buy arms?
