Anura Bandaranaike, a man who was promised bigger things, looked shocked that he was given National Heritage and was heard to tell Mahinda Samarasinghe that he would now have to travel the world in order to find out what National Heritage is.
Bandaranaike then proceeded to leave the premises even before the group photograph was taken. Rajapakse who looked for him was visibly angry that Bandaranaike had left, telling Mervyn Silva who was lurking by, 'Okata aswenna kiyapang enna bari nam.' (Tell that fellow to resign if he can?t come). It was Silva who rushed outside and dragged Bandaranaike back to eventually pose for the photograph. |

The ability to see future or plane future as one want is a major advantage for a political leader. If the leader only cares about staying in power or hold on to power then He/she/they will go this extra mile to the wrong direction sometimes without thinking the consequences, but still most of them come out as winners.
In the current Sri Lankan situation it is still to be seen, that president's decision to add more cabinet ministers to his cabinet from main opposition party is a wise decision or not.
Sri Lanka has a great future waiting and when and how she arrives there is more or less depends on the effectiveness, abilities and the power of helm man possess.
Lets wait and see.

We should not be inhuman.
I sympathize with each and every member of the fallen Sri Lankans, either civilians, SLDF or LTTE. They are all humans with poor dependents to support. Loosing one in the family is unimaginable and intolerable and in many cases it's the 'bread winner' or rice earner who dies and leave the dependents devastated. Please do not make fun or even give a hint of rejoice at the demise of another human. |
