just before the fall of Vakarei, Pirapaharan all of a sudden and out of nowhere issued a few bogus Eelam ID cards....
Didn't he give any to the East???

I am not sure through comments like this you want the person whom you are insulting to feel the shame or to prove to the rest of the world how ignorant and a sick mentality you behold. If you are a buddhist you should be ashamed of yourself. Dalit (the untouchables) was one of the foundations for the Siddhartha Gauthama to seek the mission he set foot on.

In India, members of minorities namely Sigh, Tamil, Muslim, Teluku, Kanartikan have been either presidents or PMs or both., In Singpore too reality is similar
These Sinhala chauvinists will never let us in for any sharing of the government. Even Kadir who was as close to mimic Sinhala (by marrying a Sinhala woman and all), never given a chance by Sinhala governments... Only way for us Tamils is to have our own traditional land and have our own people rule it! |

My memory fails me... Wasn't he the Foreign Minister? How did the Sinhala government fail him? The LTTE and the Tamil people failed him. Those who celebrated his deaths failed him. The Sri Lankan nation mourned him, but not many Tamils who supports the LTTE! |

Kadir was the most educated (his portrait adorning the Cambridge, or was it oxford..I am not sure about the correct uni), most respected , most articulate Tamil personality that SL had ever seen...
and the LTTE didn't like these qualities..because he didn't have any killing mind...and a passion for LTTE terrorism..

LTTE does not want Tamils join Security Forces to work in North/East, but, they never said anything about working in other 7 provinces.

In you look at the percentage of Tamils or non-Sinhalese employed in other diciplines a clearer picture emerges. According to a PA minister's answer in 2000 in parliament 91.2% of the Govt service is made up by Sinhalese, 99.9 SF and 99% police.
OK, it's quite possible and I do not know about the actual percentages.
Now again I have to ask a question, do you think it should be propotionate to the number of people in each race in SL?
i.e. 70% all jobs should go to Sinhalese, 12% to SL Tamils, 6% to Indian Tamils, 7% to Muslims..etc?(percentages may not be correct)
IF thats the case then what about the Education? I guess you know where I am going by now:) yes, as it always comes, one main complaint is 'Standardization of University Entrance'. Now though this is not exactly a propotion based on races(it's based on districts), it was always depicted as such. So are you saying that from all Uni places 70& should go to Sinhalese..etc as well?
You also know there is no Tamil in the Supreme Court that has 11 judges, one of whom being a Muslim.
Hmm again I do not know as of Today, but there were Tamil judges in supreme court before and there will be in the future as well. I dont think this is anything to do with a particular race anyway! Do you think this also should be propotionately devided among the races?
No leader in SL has ever been from any minority community.
So who is to be blaimed? If they(minority leaders) cannot leave the communal politics and come to National Politics there will never be as well. As of now all the minority leaders just dont worry about national politics but only about there own community, so how can they emerge as national leaders? they will always be community leaders. |
