ThinKing,

he was forced to leave his job by the Tamil Tiger rebels, who ordered all Tamils, the country's ethnic minority, to quit the police and armed forces.

The 44-year-old fled to the UK in 2001 after being arrested by police on suspicion of supporting the rebels.

This is the tragedy of Tamils hunted by GoSL forces and LTTE. They cannot turn anywhere, if turned to left hunted by SLA/paramilitary and to right by LTTE. Many families have lost their loved ones during the last 14 months.

Sintamus,
White vans are focussing on those Jaffna civilians who receive telephone calls from Vanni, probabily suspecting information regarding security. Last night I learnt that 2 people were kidnapped in the past week in Jaffna after hanging up telephone conversations.

Right, you have some new FACTS I suppose(as usual ;) )
BTW, those 2 people who were kidnapped, were they living next to SLA camps(I assume you are telling me the killings/white Van are all by SLA.) or was it that those calls were like 1/2Hr or so, so SLA could trace them and get to the location by the time they finish the call?

Just wondering if you were watching '24' ;)

Previously one individual in Jaffna was warned of dangerous consequences for sending an email to an NGO in Colombo.

News to me. again!
Employees of the Lanka Telecom are suspected of colluding with white vans and Security Forces.

:D

ThinKing,

I got those informations via an email, you may know that no tele calls or emails to and from Jaffna peninsula are stopped by SLT. I do not have anymore details about those kidnappings. I can only quess that GoSL forces are planning or anticipating something serious in Jaffna.

True mate, thats a real dilemma for 'innocent' Tamils.

I do not know about 'hunted by GoSL forces', but I know they face the risk of getting questioned/arrested on suspicion..etc. To make things worst for them, LTTE declared it was not them who attack SLDF in N&E, but civillians and gave training to civillians(willing or unwilling, I guess they didnt had a choice there).

Anyway thats the sad reality!

BTW was it you who argued with me about 'Sinhala Army'? Anyway this shows why there are much less number of tamils in SLDF than used to be.

'Yes, we are going and we will be meeting with LTTE leaders,' said monitor Thorfinnur Omarsson, using the acronym for the rebels' official name, the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam.

Omarsson declined to elaborate, and called the meeting 'routine.'

Coming colours no good..So, Omarsson, go try to weave some new plot to hoodwink the GOSL and the International community...

Oh and, BTW, give your sympathies to the LTTE for losing the East to the SLA.

And come back and try to whitewash the LTTE somehow..

And it's true. It is routine as you say. You routinely whitewashed the LTTE.
Nothing new.

And meet that Tamilsilva. He will have some hilarious statements to make about the status quo!!

Can I ask then how come those Kidnapped people were using telephones? Didn't you said that they were kidnapped after talking to Vanni?

Also how did they(who ever sent you the email) send the email to you? Do they have satellite links to send emails or something?

Mate isn't this a really contradicting statement?

ThinKing,
LTTE does not want Tamils join Security Forces to work in North/East, but, they never said anything about working in other 7 provinces. In you look at the percentage of Tamils or non-Sinhalese employed in other diciplines a clearer picture emerges. According to a PA minister's answer in 2000 in parliament 91.2% of the Govt service is made up by Sinhalese, 99.9 SF and 99% police. You also know there is no Tamil in the Supreme Court that has 11 judges, one of whom being a Muslim. No leader in SL has ever been from any minority community. (In India, members of minorities namely Sigh, Tamil, Muslim, Teluku, Kanartikan have been either presidents or PMs or both., In Singpore too reality is similar).

I do not want to proceed with this because somebody MAY be in danger by my revelation.

Though there is shortages of rice and vegitables as irrigation using electric motors have been halted in Jaffna, the price of rice has been cut down due to surplus and vegitables are also plenty in Vanni. The shortages of imported things from Colombo like batteries, match boxes, kerosine, diesel, milk powder, baby foods are experienced by all in the North.

B. Muralidhar Reddy - The Hindu
COLOMBO: The Sri Lanka Government, due to the prevailing security situation, has reportedly blocked communication facilities to Jaffna peninsula. As a result, Internet is down and most of the phones are not functioning

Oh oh...the telecommunication was cut off in the east prior to the fall of Vakarei too..

Oh oh..

What's that mean, they are going to captue Jaffna from themselves ;)
