No other foreign news agency is quoting this news from tamilnet...
Most probably they too are having doubts about this story from the tamilnet....
Like they did earlier, now foreign News reports do not directly QUOTe TrUmpet net news. they give that as THE PRO-ltte WEBISITE version. ANDAWANE mURUGA.
I think, trumpet net should be converted only for OBITUARY NOTICES. |

Even if they revert to guerilla warfare it is inevitable that there will be individual occasions where they may kill a few SLDF personnel.
But beyond that, and short of suicide attacks on buses and the like ... they cant do anything else.
The critical thing is to press home the momentum and advantage. Clear the east quickly and bring the people back - with plenty of SLDF personnel to kill any terrorist scum who infiltrate diusguised as civvies. Set up admin in east and start developing it so that people there will quickly realise which side their bread is buttered on.
Then press home the north and all the while keep up the offensive on the IC front. Full resources to preventing arms and funding flowing to terrorist scum. |

GOSL should not forget that it has won nothing and will not win until it can put forward a just settlement to Tamils. Its fair to say it has won a battle due to its superior air power and gained territory. This has happened before too on either side but has not had a effect on the war. Until Tamil grievances are met LTTE is there to stay.
Gaining control was the easy part but holding and winning over the population will be the most difficult part. GOSL will suffer casualties and how they react would dictate whether they will win the population or not. |

I fully agree with you. What has happened is similar to having a hair cut as medication for a headache. It's just a matter of time before the hair grows back again!
The actual problem is far from being resolved but from a political viewpoint and the propaganda the nation is being fooled by the powers that rule. |

So why dont they start talking about what this 'just settlement' is? Ample opportunities in peace talks but hairdresser only focused on his kappam highway.
Why keep holding territory and fighting for it? Why not talk? Why try to assasinate SLDF commanders and ministers of parliament. These are actions of terrorists not negotiators.
heres a thought - Tamils (and all races in SL) guaranteed equal rights so no discrimination on basis of race and religion and language. Sinhala, Tamil and English main languages. English to be main language of education (we need this to be successful globally) but children can also study their mother tongue. Money currently being wasted on defence budget and hopefully diapspora contributions to LTTE can be used to redevelop areas affected by war to current standards. Why dont LTTE talk about these things and how they can become a political player in getting these things done instead of what they are doing now? |
