Ahmadineja,
Well said.
In addition, he did many mistakes related to GOSL, SLA, JVP and other facts. He lost the reputation that way. |

Do you know the report was an interview by Economist Dr. Harsha de Silva about.......The attack on the Colombo Port yesterday by the LTTE would have a direct impact on the economy, analysts feared.
Economic analysts say the attack would affect transshipments if insurance premiums were increased due to the high war risk factor. |

And the LTTE has tried level best to penetrate the Colombo harbour and show the LTTE diaspora that it still is a Force to reckon with, has failed misserably and 3 suicide boats of Susai were chased and destroyed while 3 of susai's men who jumped in to the sea to esscape have been captured alive!
And the Tamilnet, fully knowing this, tries to cover up this by publishing a lie on its website! |

Foreign Minister exposes corruption in govt.
Foreign Minister exposes corruption in govt.
Interference by Presidential advisors on tenders
Govt. responsible for human rights violations
Person abducted every five hours, reveals Mangala
Foreign Minister Mangala Samaraweera has informed President Mahinda Rajapakse in writing that most ministers are unhappy that presidential advisors are interfering in the functions of their ministries with forceful interference on tender procedures.
It is common knowledge in government that Presidential Advisor Basil Rajapakse has given directions to several ministries on tenders and other issues and Minister Samaraweera's references in the letter are widely believed to have been aimed at him.
In the hard-hitting letter dated January 23 where Samaraweera had dealt with the issue of several UNP MPs crossing over to government ranks, the President was also told the government is facing very serious charges of waste and corruption.
The Minister, who has opposed accommodating the UNP crossers-over, has also charged that they are crossing over 'simply for portfolios and privileges and to protect themselves from charges of stealing state properties that have been levelled against them.'
The Foreign Minister has also adversely commented on the human rights record of the government and charged that abductions and kidnappings have become commonplace in the country.
'It has been reported by local and international human rights organisations that a person is abducted every five hours. Kidnappings, abductions and killings have become common incidents. No matter who does it, as a government we are responsible for it,' Samaraweera states.
Following the Minister's letter, Presidential Advisors Basil Rajapakse, Dulles Alahapperuma and President's Secretary Lalith Weeratunga on Thursday called over at Samaraweera's residence and appealed for calm.
However, it is learnt, Samaraweera has held his ground and opposed accommodating UNP crossers-over in government. He has also refused to retract any of the charges levelled through the letter.
The President had on receipt of the letter told confidants he was not in a position to stop the UNP MPs from crossing over since they would then be politically ruined.
Meanwhile, Samaraweera on Friday met the President and once again reiterated his position that accommodating the UNP MPs in government would be to the detriment of the SLFP. (See page 11 for full letter) Edited By - Thambi - 28 Jan 2007 00:21:17 GMT |

Killing must stop at once.
Only way to stop killing is for the GoSL to be sincere in its effort to find a genuine solution to the 50 year old problem. Place the APC proposals for negotiation. That's what sensible people all over the world want the GoSL to do.
The miscalculation that LTTE can be defeated and force to capitulate is an old believe that other leaders tried and failed. More fighting can result in more deaths, more destruction, more time wasting and more straining of relationships. |
