Monday, 22 January 2007 - 9:49 PM SL Time

Do you know the specialty of this NEW YEAR 2007???

It starts with MONDAY and ends also on MONDAY

This year has got highest number of SUNDAYS and SATURDAYS

So enjoy the least working year in your life!

2007 - A YEAR WITH A DIFFERENCE

104(Saturdays and Sundays) + 11 (festivals which are not on Saturdays and Sunday)=115
And other leaves minimum 15 days so totally 130 non working days out of 365 days

That`s When I Say AGAIN- ` HAPPY NEW YEAR `

I think SL is the only country in the world which highest number of public holidays

As a result of its ethnic diversity, Sri Lanka also is home to various religious faiths and is one of the few countries to celebrate every religious holiday

There might be no other country in the world with so many holidays as in Sri Lanka. In addition to all the Sundays all important Christian, Moslem and Hindu festivals and all Buddhist and national festivals are celebrated. Sri Lanka has about 72 holidays per year.

Great country!

In Western countries they only celebrate X'mas, I am told. We should reciprocate by making Dec 25th a working day. Also, Ramazan and Thai Pongal should be made working days.
