some tamils like to side with sinhalas.

anandasangaree, devananda, kathirgama - they never mention sinhala army massaring tamils and putting them in mass graves, about shooting of tamil aid workers, occupying tamil civilian houses. only speak out against LTTE, and say all the political problem started in 1985, even though the first anti- tamil violence started in 1956, and there were anti tamil violence in colombo every five years until 1983

they side with them for few reasons:
1) money, in the case of anandasangaree
2) fame, in the case of kathirgamar
3) just a feeling, they just dislike tamils, like thavachelva

Geographically, this fact came to a deadly reality for LTTE since many months ago. They have isolated poor Tamils boys to fight the government and Karuna. without air or sea power, LTTE cant keep the coordination.

Sansare bro, according to so called expert Iqbal Athais LTTE has established land routes to Batticaloa areas, thus it may be part of the reason they did not put up such a fight for Vaharai.

LTTE's measures in the East have included the setting up of a new base at Kumburupiddy, north of Trincomalee. This is believed to be a move to ensure a land based route to Batticaloa district where the LTTE is now fortifying its positions. Such a route is in addition to the new training activity that is going on for Sea Tigers whose capability still remains largely intact.

As for peace, the ball has always been in the governments hands, do they show they are for peace?

- Demerger of the NE
- Against the APRC report
- Scrapping the MoU with the UNP

How can any solution be found when these things are happening, does that seem like the actions of a government that wishes to find a solution through devolution of power?

Captureing a ghost town is easy , I don't call it a victory. Now it is clear who the real killers are.
People lived in towns controlled by the LTTE but not under SLA. Whay are people fleeing their homes? Cos they know they do not have a chance under the SLA.

Now what? I think it is time the LTTE reacts.Soon the SLA when counter attacked by the LTTE will be crying foul as usual. Now it will be a true fight with no civilians around both parties can fight it out and lets see who is the better force.

Just capturing without the people is useless. When people are displaced and suffering what is the use of the land?.

Pharoa,

how many tamils say it is good for tamils to kill sinhala civilians? i have only seen very few, which indicates a random sample and true representation of tamils

but many sinhalas do glorify that killing tamil civilians as sinhala nationalism

I agree that Tamils express less racist views that those Sinhalese in the Forum. I am sure you did not mean when you say 'it's justifiesd killing so and so', you say it because you were provoked.

Those Sinhalese who are abroad are mainly from well to do background( I also know many Sinhalese refugees too) but Tamils are from all walks of life mainly affected by the anti-Tamil riots/SLA atrocities. These affluent Sinhalese want to preserve their way of live and they do not care about the poor Sinhalese or minorities. Do they care if Southern youths are killed while they enjoy Western way of life? No. They must be made to feel secure if and when minorities also share power.

White supremacists robbed 27 years of prime of Mandela's life. Those who are powerful ill treat those who do not have it. Mandela was clever enough to mobilise all the black groups instead of alianating them. The weaker has to suffer to get the world to come to his rescue. It's not right or wrong that matters but how clever we manage our affairs in informing others of the injustices we are subjected to and the pains that we are inflicted on.

Now because GoSL bomb and starve Tamils the world is awakening to these horrors. LTTE does not give time for the world to come to know what's happening and who the real terrorists are. For example many including Sinhalese do not know it was SLA/EPDP that started the present killings by first shooting 2 men at Neerveli, Jaffna on 1st Dec 2005. LTTE supporters were quick to take revenge by killing 7 SLA soldiers, so, what everybody thinks is that LTTE started the war. You know how many civilians are killed after that claymore mine attack on the SLA tractor? Everyday 7 to 10 are killed by white van abduction and shooting.
Thank you for being frank with your feelings.

Now it is clear who the real killers are.

People lived in towns controlled by the LTTE but not under SLA.

Though this victory is a great one do not overjoy much.

We can expect some unexpected move by the tigers,at an unexpected time,I heard that they are getting ready for a major operation in wanni. This could be to wards South of wanni. If that happens SL forces would have withdraw from not only from east but Jaffna too.
