Lets hope it goes well. Then it can be privatised and hopefully will be a good ROI for the initial investment of public funds!

My only advise would be to keep the fares 'budget' but the safety and service 'top shelf'! The rest will look after itself.

I wish this Mihin Air a great success, after all this is Sri Lankan. With my limited knowledge of airlines world over I do not thing it is a wise investment.

There are not many who can comprehend what MR is getting into in ths business. May be in an year's time when they see the account books they regret for this misadventure too, the other more costly and deadly war that he was ill advised by his brother Gotabhaya.

I am for profit making business but against deadly war that no side can win.

They realized long ago that all forms of separatist-terrorism must be wiped out if the country is to be moved forward...this they did very well in many places, but the best example was how they liquidate the 'Khalistan Separatism' by sending Battle Tanks to blast the holiest of holy Sikh temple in Amritsar....killing over 1500 Sikh separatist-terrorists in one fell swoop!

There is no question about destroying terrorism. First of all you have, unknowingly or knowingly, branded me as an LTTE sympathizer.

There is no question of separatism and I stand for a United Lanka.

The comparison between Tamils of Sri lanka and the Sikh's of India does not hold much water.

Kalistan question came even after India has given wide ranging powers to the Sikh's in the State of Punjab including a joint capital and language use. There was hardly any justification for Khalistan.

Sikh's are not discriminated in state employment or in any other state sector and in fact the defense forces of India is dominated by the Sikh's.

Sikh civilians were not targeted by the state except in the case of Delhi riots after the assassination of Mrs. Indira Gandhi.

They did not resolve the Khalistan issue purely by the assault on the Golden temple but by politically engaging them. Punjab was never neglected in the development plans. In fcat they hardly had anything to complain about.

They did never try to starve the Sikh population like what GOSL is doing to the North.

The assault on Golden Temple was specifically targeted the militants and not the civilians.

I can keep on going and it is not going to get this discussion anywhere...

Swathi,

He supported VP in his agenda up until 2002? Why did Sangaree change after that?

1.
Because when the TULF became the supporter of LTTE, Sangaree was asked not to contest the general election.
2.
TULF in their AGM was going to remove him as their President. He went to courts and got an interim injunction against TULF conducting the AGM, the central commitee or any othet meeting without his permission. He did not since allow any form of TULF meetings. Today he is the President of one memeber TULF surviving by getting the interim injunction extended.

SLA cowards shell hospitals and injure civilians, but the LTTE takes care of the criminals themselves, good show:

LTTE artillery fire at Mahindapura- Trincomalee

Thirteen SL army soldiers injured in LTTE artillery fire was admitted to the general hospital at Kantale, on Thursday the 18th of January. According to military sources the artillery and mortar shells were launched from Vakarai and Kadiraweli areas.

This was one of the SLA camps from which artillery fire was being directed to the vaharai area hospital.

Ah Revy!

Assalam aleikhum!

be careful in saying that the LTTE is firing from the Vakare Hospital..know y?

the international law says...
As long as a hospital is not used to commit hostile acts, such as launching military offensives or storing military equipment in its compound, the hospital must not be attacked

so one has to be careful in making assertions, no?

Where did I say they were firing from the hospital? This was the statement made by the GoSL. A setup by the criminal government of a failed and false state in order to justify their planned shelling of the hospital area where the majority of remaining Tamil IDPs are sheltered.

Their goal is to force as many of the Tamils to move, just as they did in Muttur East and Sampoor, why are the residents of those areas still languishing in refugee camps? The have now even left Vaharai and are in GoSL areas, why is the GoSl not rushing to resettle them as they did with the Sinhala refugees???

Pure and simple the goal is ethnic cleansing of the east.
