A budget airline is always a fantastic news for the travellers. So is more competition. In that case my fullest support. May be more jobs too.

On the other hand I do not have a favorable opnion on the government run businesses.

Lets wait and see. May be sell the management rights to a privete conpany later on.

Sri Lankan is only for the rich and poweful. too expensive for the ordinary people.

This will end the monopoly SriLankan airlines reserved for decades and the competitiveness will sharpen up, which will frankly plays a role on prices and customer service.

The doubtable sides of this new proposal are the neediness of alternative carrier and the funds it will swallow from national budget.

I blieve if this is done with collaboration with a privet company that has significant experience in running a bdget air line the out come will be better.

Though the idea of having a viable competitor for sri lankan is briliant, it needs very efficient management to frofit form a budget air line.

The Government has taken a policy decision to start the airline. It will be a fully owned Government company. The initial capital will be from Government funds

To compensate for the decline in overseas visitors to Sri LANKA the Govt is printing more money to start this 'Mihin Air' (might have been mis-typed 'Mahin Heir') for affluent Sri Lankans to travel to 'West Asian and Indian destinations'.

If bread is unaffordable why not make cake available?
